and I see FX and FORMA listed separately

as well as together.

Do I need to receive both?”

Many people find InMode confusing because, although it is a single device, it uses two different handpieces to provide different modes.

To explain it simply, if you need to reduce fat such as under-chin fat or deep cheek fat, you would receive the FX mode.

If your concern is skin laxity, such as fine lines or enlarged pores, you would receive the FORMA mode.

If both fat and skin laxity are concerns, the FX and FORMA modes may be used together.

Today, I’ll explain how to distinguish whether you should receive FX and FORMA together or whether one mode alone may be appropriate if you are considering Jamsil InMode.

1. Jamsil

InMode FX mode

InMode FX uses vacuum suction and radiofrequency energy together.

Because heat is delivered while the skin and fat layer are lifted, it is often discussed for areas where the fat layer makes the facial contour look less defined, such as under the chin or around the deep cheeks.

Most people who considered FX in the consultation room fell into one of these categories:

-Those whose area under the chin feels particularly soft when pinched

-Those whose jawline curves roundly below the chin when viewed from the side

-Those concerned about deep cheek fat hanging below the cheeks, commonly referred to as “bulldog jowls”

However, InMode FX should not be viewed solely as a treatment that significantly reduces fat.

People with little facial fat or insufficient fat beneath the cheekbones or inside the cheeks may develop hollow cheeks, making their faces look more gaunt.

Therefore, rather than receiving InMode FX indiscriminately on areas with fat, I recommend finding the appropriate approach through an accurate assessment and consultation.

2. Jamsil

InMode FORMA mode

InMode FORMA is a radiofrequency treatment focused on the skin’s elasticity layer.

While FX focuses on the fat layer under the chin and in the deep cheeks, FORMA is more focused on managing the elasticity of the dermal layer, including concerns such as fine lines and enlarged pores.

The dermal layer is connected to skin texture, thickness, and fine elasticity.

When this layer loses strength, the facial contour does not necessarily become sharply undefined; instead, the skin may appear thin and loose.

In such cases, an approach focused on the elasticity layer, such as FORMA rather than the fat-layer-focused FX mode, would be more appropriate. ^^

In fact, many of the people to whom we explained FORMA in the consultation room had skin that was loose and lacking firmness rather than having a thick fat layer.

-Those whose skin looks generally loose

-Those whose pores have become vertically elongated and whose skin texture has become rough

-Those with dull, dry skin texture and reduced fine elasticity

However, FORMA may not have a significant effect in areas with a substantial fat layer, such as under-chin fat or thick deep cheek fat.

3. When FX and FORMA are used together

The reason for receiving FX and FORMA together is not simply to undergo a stronger treatment.

It is because the areas they can be applied to and the effects that can be expected are different.

1. FX focuses on the fat layer and facial contour.

2. FORMA focuses on the skin’s elasticity layer.

Using FX + FORMA together for complex skin concerns

However, skin concerns often appear in combination rather than as a single issue.

Therefore, receiving only FX may address the fat layer, but it will not resolve loose, lax skin.

Conversely, receiving only FORMA may address skin texture and elasticity, while the heavy appearance under the chin and around the deep cheeks may remain.

In such cases, using FX and FORMA together would be appropriate.

On the other hand, if there is very little fat and the skin alone is loose, the approach can focus on FORMA.

If fat under the chin and in the deep cheeks is clearly present and the decrease in skin elasticity is not significant, the approach can focus on FX.

It is important to find the treatment that is appropriate for you.

If you are looking for Jamsil InMode, I hope you will not automatically consider FX and FORMA separately or assume that they must always be used together.
