From a cost perspective as well, they are the most reasonable option, and they are often suitable for patients who want to shorten treatment time. However, because the metal color stands out, some people feel burdened by the appearance. In particular, for adult women, office workers, or people whose jobs involve frequent exposure of their appearance, the visibility of the orthodontic appliance itself can be stressful, so this is something that must be considered during the consultation process.

Ceramic Brackets

Ceramic brackets are made from a material similar to tooth color, so they have the advantage of not standing out much when seen from the outside. That is why ceramic appliances are often recommended for people who want orthodontic treatment that is discreet and not very noticeable. However, compared with metal, this appliance has a higher coefficient of friction, so tooth movement may be somewhat slower.
