Today, I’d like to talk about how to remove the cause of dark circles.

Under-eye fat repositioning can be done through an incision on the inner side of the eye (transconjunctival incision) or through an incision in the skin (lower blepharoplasty).

After checking the fat and fascia through the transconjunctival incision or skin incision,

we carefully separate the muscles and ligaments that form the under-eye groove so the fat to be repositioned can be placed properly.

Then, once the protruding fat is spread downward and fixed in place, the surgery is complete.

Internal fixation vs. external fixation

How the repositioned fat is fixed is very important.

There is external fixation, where it is fixed outside the skin, and internal fixation, where it is fixed to the periosteum on the inside.

I prefer internal fixation, which is fixed to the periosteum, because it is a bit more technically difficult but the results last longer.

In general, it is a relatively simple surgery that takes about 30 minutes to an hour,

but because the surgeon’s skill and the sense developed through experience affect the outcome, this is something you should be sure to consider together.

Today, we looked at dark circles and under-eye fat repositioning surgery.

If the under-eye area looks dark, it naturally makes you look tired,

makes you appear older than you really are, and especially if the under-eye fat is protruding, it can also make your impression seem harsh.

There are many cases where people want to improve the overall appearance, including dark circles like these.
