Hello, this is Mary Plastic Surgery Clinic, glad to meet you.
2024 is already ending, and 2025 is just around the corner.
At the end of the year, when you look in the mirror and think, “I’m one year older,” it can even make you feel a little depressed.
Today, I’d like to talk about how to turn back time,
and whether there is a way to make aging come more slowly.

In your 30s and 40s,
care is the only way to go.
You may think symptoms like sagging skin are only a concern for middle-aged and older adults,
but in fact, if you do not keep up with care from your 20s onward, aging can come to you much more rapidly.
You need to start care ASAP!!
These days, various skin booster products are being released.
If you consult with a specialist and receive an appropriate skin booster procedure, your skin will glow.
Depending on the person, but in your 30s and 40s, you will start to feel your skin sagging.
This is the stage when you begin to realize in the mirror that this is aging.
However, since this is still the early stage of aging, you can maintain firmness through laser lifting, Botox, and skin boosters.
And sometimes, approaching it from a procedural standpoint is also an option.
For example, if the sagging is not severe enough to warrant a lifting surgery such as a facelift,
but skin sagging causes the tissue to shift downward, leading to wrinkles around the nasolabial folds and mouth area,
and creating hollowness under the cheekbones, resulting in the commonly mentioned “peanut-shaped face,”
then thread lifting can be used to move the sagging skin tissue upward and restore the facial contour.

Simply put,
thread lifting can be broadly divided into absorbable threads and non-absorbable threads,
and by strength, into strong threads, medium threads, and weak threads, and by purpose, into lifting threads, volumizing threads, and more.
A wide variety of threads have been developed, allowing for customized lifting tailored to each individual,
and different materials are used depending on the degree of skin sagging and wrinkles.
Absorbable threads such as Mint Thread and Silhouette Soft are inserted, or stronger threads such as Elastic are used to pull tightly,
but unlike lifting lasers, which contract the skin to create firmness,
thread lifting is easier to understand if you think of it as moving sagging tissue back to its original position.
For additional explanations about thread lifting, it would be helpful to refer to other articles or videos.
In conclusion, in your 30s and 40s, I recommend using lasers, Botox, and skin boosters more actively,
and using thread lifting to help maintain the overall facial outline.
In your 50s and 60s
surgery is also worth considering
Now I’d like to talk about surgical methods.
These days, everyone takes care of themselves diligently, so people in their 50s and 60s are not the same as before.
Unfortunately, wrinkles that have already become deeply established and skin that has accumulated aging over a long period due to the traces of time
may have limitations when it comes to reversing them with simple procedures alone.
However, for those who have taken good care of themselves and do not have severe skin sagging,
laser treatments and thread lifting can be enough to maintain a youthful and firm facial contour,
so there is no need to unconditionally consider surgery, and there is no need to be scared right away.
But
for those whose skin sagging is severe and who still have a lot of excess skin even after lifting,
you may need to consider a surgical method called a facelift.
This facelift can also be divided into two methods:
mini facelift and regular facelift.

A mini facelift, as the name suggests, refers to a surgery that places less burden on the body than a regular facelift.
It is often performed not only on people in their 50s and 60s, but also on people in their 20s to 40s who have sagging skin after contouring surgery.
The difference between a regular facelift and a mini facelift (mini lifting)
is the size of the incision.
In a typical facelift,
the incision starts near the sideburns and continues in front of the ear (and, if necessary, extends behind the ear as well),
and the retaining ligaments and fascial tissues of the entire face are corrected.

A mini facelift, on the other hand, differs in that only the necessary areas are incised for the surgery.
!! But there is something to be careful about here!!
Many patients think that once they have surgery, the effect will last forever.
Of course, surgery generally has the longest duration of effect,
but time continues to pass, so skin sagging will eventually occur.
When I explain aging, I often compare it to a train.
The train of time moves at the same pace for everyone,
but through self-care, you can temporarily stop the train or even make it go backward sometimes.
In everyday life, simply maintaining good habits and applying sunscreen properly can make the train go more slowly,
and if you receive the anti-aging procedures mentioned earlier, you can make the train of time move backward for a while.
Lasers, skin boosters, and Botox can move the train back by about 4 to 6 months,
thread lifting can move it back by about 1 to 2 years,
a mini facelift can move it back by about 3 to 5 years,
and a facelift can move it back the longest, by about 5 to 7 years.
But this train does not only keep going backward just because it went back once;
from that reversed state, it moves forward again.
It is care that is needed for life.
If you stay interested and make the investment in yourself, then years or decades later, you can live much more youthfully and beautifully than those around you!
So far, this has been Mary Plastic Surgery Clinic, glad to meet you.
