Things to check before plastic surgery!
Can I take the medications I’m currently taking?

One of the must-check items before plastic surgery is medication use! At Wink Plastic Surgery, we explain why medications you are currently taking before surgery, such as aspirin and omega-3, should be stopped.

Medications that increase the risk of bleeding during surgery, such as aspirin taken for severe headaches or menstrual cramps, and omega-3 taken for health purposes, should be stopped in advance before surgery.

Platelets in the blood are primarily responsible for stopping bleeding. Taking medications such as aspirin reduces platelet function, which is why they are prohibited before surgery.

If surgery is performed after taking medications related to blood clotting, excessive bleeding may occur during the operation, and the recovery process after surgery is likely to be delayed.

However, if you cannot tolerate pain such as headaches or menstrual cramps, it is better to switch to another pain reliever that does not contain aspirin.

Unlike anti-inflammatory pain relievers, if you need to take medications such as blood pressure or diabetes medicine, they may be taken on the day of surgery with a small amount of water, and you must consult the medical staff for details.

Wink Plastic Surgery at Sinsa Station does not provide unnecessary treatment, and Director Choi Seung-hyeop provides 1:1 care from consultation to surgery and aftercare. In addition, we are doing our best to accurately identify the items that need to be checked before surgery in order to perform safe surgery.
