1. Many people think lower blepharoplasty and under-eye fat repositioning are the same procedure. While they share the common goal of reducing or repositioning under-eye fat, they differ in whether skin is removed. Under-eye fat repositioning is suitable for younger people whose aging has not progressed much and who do not have sagging; it deals only with the fat itself without removing skin. Lower blepharoplasty, however, is suitable for people in their 40s and older whose aging has already progressed significantly and who have pronounced under-eye sagging and looseness; it removes skin and secures the fascia.

Because younger people still have skin elasticity, under-eye fat repositioning reshapes the fat’s form and position without making an incision. For middle-aged and older adults who need wrinkles and fat to be removed due to aging, lower blepharoplasty can improve the eye area to a more lively look by making an incision in the skin.
