A thick double eyelid like the one above is often called a “sausage eye.” The name comes from the skin under the double-eyelid crease being thick like a sausage. This type of double eyelid can give a heavy and unnatural impression, a strong impression, or a sleepy look. To improve this, a method is needed to lower the double-eyelid crease. For this, a procedure commonly called the skin-preserving incision method (or double-line reduction incision method), which releases the existing double eyelid and creates a new crease below it, should be performed.

This method involves making a new incision below the existing high crease and releasing the upper crease. In this case, a thin and natural double eyelid is created. In the case above, there was also little fat, so eyelid fat grafting was performed as well.

After lowering it with double-line reduction

The photos above show what many people prefer, the in-out line. These are post-surgery photos, and before surgery this eye also had a sausage-eye appearance with an outer line, as shown below.

This is a case where a large double eyelid and an outer-line eye were turned into a thin in-out line. Through precise surgery, this kind of natural in-out double eyelid can be created.
