As people age, many middle-aged patients say that their eyelids sag and their eyes have become smaller. In such cases, eyelid drooping needs to be improved, and many people wonder whether they should have double eyelid surgery or a brow lift under the eyebrow.

Eyelid drooping can be improved with either a brow lift under the eyebrow or upper blepharoplasty.

First, what should be examined is whether there is a double eyelid crease, and if so, whether it is appropriate.

If there is eyelid drooping and no double eyelid crease, upper blepharoplasty can be considered.

If the absence of a double eyelid crease makes the drooping appear more severe, and if improving the droop through a double eyelid crease is mostly possible, then upper blepharoplasty to create a double eyelid crease can be performed. Through upper blepharoplasty, it is possible to create a double eyelid line and remove loose skin to effectively improve eyelid drooping.

Through upper blepharoplasty, loose skin can be removed and a double eyelid line can be recreated.

For people who already have a double eyelid crease, the height of the crease should be examined. If the double eyelid crease is low, eyelid drooping can be improved through upper blepharoplasty, which raises the crease while removing loose skin.

Next is the case where the double eyelid height or shape is appropriate, but eyelid drooping is still present. In such cases, a brow lift under the eyebrow is effective. In some cases, when there is severe forehead sagging, a forehead lift may be more effective. However, because a forehead lift can damage the scalp or hair and may cause hair loss, and because it can also cause hollowness in the upper eyelid due to the raised forehead, it is better to decide on surgery through consultation with a specialist medical team.
