Hello. This is Woori Plastic Surgery.
Today, we would like to look at whether abdominoplasty and breast reduction can be performed at the same time when abdominal sagging and breast sagging occur together after childbirth, breastfeeding, or after dieting.
Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty is not simply a matter of removing fat. While removing loose skin and fatty tissue, it also includes, when necessary, bringing together separated rectus abdominis muscles. Through abdominoplasty, you can expect the overall abdomen to look tighter and smoother.
Breast Reduction

Breast reduction or breast lift refers to surgery that improves the shape of large or sagging breasts. It is a method that addresses sagging by refining the skin and internal tissues at the same time, and reduces volume or adjusts shape as needed.
Can They Be Done at the Same Time?

Neither abdominoplasty nor breast reduction is a minor procedure. However, in our clinic, we actually perform both surgeries together more than once a week. The reason is that the recovery period can be combined into one. After abdominoplasty, you need to spend about 5 to 7 days bent forward at the waist and minimize movement. In contrast, breast reduction or breast lift surgery tends to have a relatively quick recovery. If these two procedures are done at the same time, there is no need to go through two separate recovery periods, making the overall recovery process much more efficient.
Precautions

When both areas are operated on at the same time, care is needed with both the waist and arm use, so management until returning to daily life is important. Also, the longer the surgery takes, the greater the risks related to anesthesia and recovery, but abdominoplasty and breast reduction are a combination that can be sufficiently performed together within a safe surgical time.
If abdominal and breast sagging are present at the same time, abdominoplasty and breast reduction surgery can be performed together. Since it is important that the surgery not take too long and that it be carried out systematically by experienced medical staff, it is important to proceed after sufficient consultation with a specialist.
