Hello. This is Woori Plastic Surgery.
Recently, the number of people coming in for Ultherapy lifting has really increased. There are still many people who come for consultations because it has clear effects on skin elasticity improvement and lifting, and especially since we are a plastic surgery clinic, many people consider Ultherapy together with surgery. As a result, we often get the question, “Can I have it done on the same day as surgery?” So today, we’ll explain whether Ultherapy lifting and surgery can be performed on the same day, and if so, in what cases it is possible.
Can it be done together with surgery?

Ultherapy lifting works by delivering thermal energy to the fascial layer beneath the skin, causing the tissue to contract and inducing collagen regeneration. However, if Ultherapy energy is applied again to tissue that has already been dissected or damaged by surgery, it may affect the recovery process. This is because swelling may last longer, pain may become stronger, or it may interfere with the tension of tissue that was pulled during surgery.
So if the area where Ultherapy lifting is performed does not overlap with the area manipulated during surgery, it can be done on the same day. For example, in cases such as a facelift where the cheek and zygomatic areas are widely dissected, it is not recommended to immediately perform Ultherapy on those areas. However, the double chin area does not overlap with the surgery, so it can be done on the same day. Conversely, if you had double chin liposuction or muscle tightening, Ultherapy on the cheek and jawline is possible as long as the submental area is not touched.
When is it possible after surgery?

Since the tissue is already undergoing stimulation and recovery during surgery, it is best to avoid giving additional stimulation to the same layer. If you are planning Ultherapy lifting on the surgical area, it is safest to wait at least 3 months.
Reason for doing it together under sedation anesthesia

Ultherapy lifting is known for having good results, but it is also known to be painful. That is why many patients want to have Ultherapy done at the same time while under general anesthesia or sedation anesthesia. If it is performed while sleeping, there is no memory of the pain, so many people feel more comfortable having it done together, and satisfaction tends to be high as well.
Ultherapy can be done on the same day as surgery, but only when the surgical area and the area where Ultherapy energy is delivered do not overlap. If you want Ultherapy applied to the surgical area, waiting 3 months is safer, and even if it is done on the same day, you can receive it neatly and without problems as long as the areas are properly adjusted.
