Hello. This is Woori Plastic Surgery.
When the face line collapses and sagging occurs due to aging, almost everyone considers anti-aging at least once. For those who feel that procedures are not enough but surgery still seems burdensome, today we would like to organize an option called mini lifting. Let’s take a look at the duration of mini lifting and the surgical method.
Procedure vs. Surgery

Anti-aging usually starts at the procedure stage and gradually moves up to the surgery stage. Thread lifting pulls along a line, so even if there is an immediate improvement, the duration of the effect may gradually decrease. On the other hand, a lifting surgery pulls across a broader area all the way to the muscle layer, so the effect is clear, but it is a surgery with a greater recovery burden. Mini lifting sits somewhere between these two methods. Although it is a surgery, its incisions are small and the recovery burden is relatively light, which is its main feature.
Mini Lifting Surgical Method

Mini lifting is performed by making an incision of about 2 to 3 cm inside the hairline, pulling up and fixing the sagging SMAS layer, and then trimming the loose skin. This gives it the advantage of a longer maintenance period than thread lifting. If needed, thread lifting may also be performed together to refine detailed lines. The incision is inside the hair, so it is generally not visible in daily life, but the speed at which the scar fades can vary from person to person.
How Does It Compare to Thread Lifting?

Thread lifting feels relatively light and allows you to see the effect quickly because it pulls along a line, but it is hard to say that the maintenance period is long. Mini lifting pulls across an area, so the improvement in sagging may appear more clearly, and in some cases the mini lifting maintenance period may feel longer than that of thread lifting. In addition, since it does not require the extensive recovery of a lifting surgery, it can be considered a less burdensome surgical lifting option.
Mini Lifting Is Recommended

Who is mini lifting suitable for? It is often recommended for people who have been receiving thread lifting consistently but have started to feel that the effect has become weaker, or for those who feel that it is still a bit too early for a full facelift. It is especially suitable when cheek sagging or the jawline starts to look less defined and you want to naturally lift the lines again. On the other hand, if sagging has already progressed significantly, a larger-area lifting procedure may be needed rather than mini lifting.
Mini lifting can be said to be a realistic anti-aging step to choose when moving from procedures to surgery. It can be a good option for those who want to improve the facial line naturally while minimizing the burden of recovery. However, the maintenance period of mini lifting can vary greatly depending on each individual’s soft tissue condition, rate of aging, skin thickness, and other factors, so an accurate diagnosis and consultation are essential.
