Hello. This is Woori Plastic Surgery.
As winter gradually approaches and various year-end and New Year plans begin to fill up, we are getting ready for the cold season. In particular, during winter, our level of physical activity decreases, and just like bears hibernating, our bodies tend to store fat. With many year-end and New Year gatherings, it is easy to gain weight.
At a time like this, I would like to explain abdominal fat in more detail, which is something you should be especially careful about. Shall we find out together whether I am a body type for which abdominal liposuction is effective?
Subcutaneous fat and visceral fat

There are two types of fat in our body: subcutaneous fat, which accumulates under the skin, and visceral fat, which accumulates between organs. Liposuction can directly remove subcutaneous fat, so it is effective, but visceral fat is not an area that should be removed surgically. It can only be reduced by combining diet and exercise. So, even if your belly looks very large, it does not necessarily mean liposuction will solve it; it is necessary to first diagnose which type of fat is present.
What type of fat do I have more of?

One easy way to check is to place your hand on your stomach and gently press it while breathing in and out. If you feel a soft fat layer when pressing, you likely have more subcutaneous fat. If you feel firm muscle right away more quickly than expected, there is a chance the proportion of visceral fat is higher. Depending on this difference, the degree of change from liposuction can vary.
When liposuction works well

For people who do not have much visceral fat and have a thick layer of subcutaneous fat, surgery can bring a clear and neat change in line and contour. If the skin has good elasticity, after the fat is removed, the remaining skin naturally adheres smoothly, creating a clean result without unnecessary sagging or wrinkles. So even if the same amount is removed, people with better skin elasticity tend to have much higher satisfaction with the results after using abdominal liposuction pricing.
When skin elasticity is reduced

If the skin does not have enough ability to contract, removing too much fat can leave excess skin behind and make it look saggy instead. In such cases, it is possible to adjust the amount of liposuction or consider combining it with a tightening treatment afterward. This is why, even if you use abdominal liposuction pricing, the same outcome does not automatically appear; the plan changes depending on each person's skin condition.
Liposuction does not solve all abdominal obesity; its effect varies depending on which type of fat is present. The more subcutaneous fat you have and the better your skin elasticity, the better the results. If you have a type with more visceral fat, improving your lifestyle should come first. When planning abdominal liposuction pricing, the most important thing is to decide through an accurate consultation that includes the type of fat, skin elasticity, the extent of suction, and aftercare.
