Cheongdam Dermatology Clinic: Managing Face and Body Lines with Ontanium (Onda Lifting + Titanium Lifting)

Today, I’ll explain Ontanium, a combination treatment of Onda Lifting and Titanium Lifting, two procedures I really, really love!

What Is Onda Lifting?

Onda Lifting is a lifting device that uses microwaves, or extremely high-frequency waves.

Onda Lifting is a device made by an Italian company, and it is used very extensively overseas for body treatments.

Since demand in Korea is naturally greater for facial treatments than for body treatments, a separate handpiece for the face was developed when the device was introduced here. At our clinic as well, we use Onda for both the face and body.

Onda Lifting has two handpieces: 3 mm and 7 mm.

The 3 mm handpiece is mainly used to improve overall firmness in the face, while the 7 mm handpiece is used to reduce the fat layer and make the contours more defined and smooth.

In my experience, except for people with hollow cheeks due to very little cheek fat, the 7 mm handpiece is extremely important for refining the contours. This handpiece is needed to establish the overall lines of the face.

One of the most important features of Onda Lifting is that it causes almost no pain.

When we think of Ultherapy and Thermage, we usually think of pain first. Some people even undergo the procedures under sedation. Onda does not require any anesthesia at all. Because it causes so little pain, it is a procedure that most people receive with a high level of satisfaction.

However, the fact that it is painless does not mean that it is ineffective. In fact, despite causing no pain, it is highly effective, making it one of the procedures that most clients return to receive again:)

Side effects generally do not occur in most cases, but it is known that there is a risk of burns if excessive heat becomes concentrated in one area. However, this is a factor that the practitioner can sufficiently control, so you probably do not need to worry too much.

What Is Titanium Lifting?

Titanium Lifting is already widely known as a celebrity lifting treatment. Its immediate tightening effect is extremely powerful, which is why many celebrities and models receive it before photo shoots.

Titanium Lifting delivers three wavelengths: 755 nm, 810 nm, and 1064 nm. These three wavelengths penetrate to different depths. I perform Titanium Lifting in two modes: Stack mode and SHR mode.

Stack mode releases energy in a stacked form, as the name suggests. Because the energy is delivered more intensely, it is used to define the overall facial contours through contraction of the retaining ligaments that connect the bone to the skin.

SHR mode distributes the energy in a scattered pattern. This produces a strong tightening effect along with an overall increase in elasticity in the dermal layer of the skin.

When these two modes are performed together, there is an immediate effect after the procedure, resulting in a very high level of satisfaction:)

We have not only a facial handpiece but also a body handpiece, so you can receive treatment specifically for the body. In fact, people who have many photo shoots really enjoy and frequently receive Titanium Lifting:)

The handpiece shown in the photo above is the body-specific handpiece.

It has a much larger treatment area than the facial handpiece and penetrates more deeply, making it highly suitable for body areas that require deeper penetration than the face :)

Who Would I Recommend Onda + Titanium, or Ontanium Lifting, To?

For a longer-lasting effect, I recommend a total of at least three treatments at one-month intervals :)

Alternatively, you can undergo Ulthermage (Ultherapy + Thermage) once a year and maintain the results with Ontanium Lifting in between. This is also a good option :)

Not Recommended for Ontanium Lifting

• Those with excessive cheek fat

• Those with very thick skin

• Those who want the results to last for more than one year after a single treatment

• Those who have difficulty visiting frequently because they do not have enough time

The results of Ontanium Lifting vary depending on how the practitioner performs the procedure and how many kilojoules of energy are used.

After performing Ontanium on many different cases, I use sufficient consultation to determine a design and treatment settings suited to each individual face.
