Even after getting a fat-dissolving injection
why does the fat stay the same?
We often meet people who are disappointed because they saw no change after the procedure, even though they had received a fat-dissolving injection somewhere else. If you thought the injection was all that was needed, then you may have missed an important process.
How fat-dissolving injections work
Fat-dissolving injections work by dissolving the membrane of fat cells and releasing the contents outward.

When the injected ingredients reach the subcutaneous fat layer, they act on the membrane surrounding the fat cells and convert the fat inside the cells into a liquid state.
The fat broken down this way must be eliminated from the body through the lymphatic system and blood vessels before it can actually lead to a reduction in volume.
Many people misunderstand that the fat disappears once they receive the injection, but in reality, the elimination process after breakdown is more important. If the broken-down fat remains in the body, it can accumulate again, so care that helps elimination is essential.
Because lymph circulation speed varies depending on the treatment area, the jawline tends to eliminate more smoothly than the abdomen.
How water intake affects the results
After the procedure, fluid intake is a key process for eliminating the broken-down fat.
Drinking enough water increases circulation in the blood and lymph fluid, which speeds up the removal of waste products.

It is recommended to drink more than 2 liters of water a day in divided amounts, and rather than drinking a large amount at once, drinking 200 milliliters frequently is better for absorption.
In particular, the period from 3 to 7 days after the procedure is
the golden time for elimination !!
During this period, you should focus on staying hydrated.
Caffeine or carbonated drinks can actually cause dehydration due to their diuretic effect, so plain water should be the priority.

If you do not get enough fluids, the broken-down fat may stagnate in the lymph vessels, swelling may last longer, and the final results may also be reduced.
Some patients find that simply drinking water properly makes the treatment effect clearly visible within 2 weeks.
Post-procedure care
You may shower on the day of the procedure, but high-temperature environments such as saunas should be avoided.

Heat can expand blood vessels and worsen swelling, so avoid using hot water for at least 48 hours.
Gently massaging the treatment area helps lymph circulation and supports elimination. Do it lightly, as if sweeping, for 5 minutes twice a day. Excessive pressure or rubbing movements can instead cause tissue damage, so caution is needed.
Alcohol should be avoided for at least 3 days, as alcohol places a burden on liver function and interferes with fat metabolism.
Light aerobic exercise such as walking or stretching helps promote blood circulation and supports elimination.
If bruising or swelling in the treatment area lasts more than 2 weeks, or if the pain becomes severe, please visit the clinic promptly to have your condition checked.
Fat-dissolving injections are not determined by the procedure itself alone
but by the care that follows.
When sufficient water intake and proper lifestyle habits support the process, satisfying changes can be expected.
At Larian Cheongdam Clinic, we analyze each person’s condition and lifestyle pattern before the procedure and provide a customized care plan. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at any time.
