Hello, this is AB Plastic Surgery Clinic.
Today, we would like to cover information that may be helpful for those considering facial contouring surgery.
First, we will look at what facial contouring surgery is and how long the recovery period after facial contouring surgery may be, which is something many people are curious about.

Facial contouring surgery is divided into three areas and is generally referred to as three types of procedures.
It consists of cheekbone reduction, square jaw surgery, and chin surgery, and when all of these are combined, it is called three-type contouring surgery.
To explain each area one by one:
First, cheekbone reduction surgery checks the amount of protruding cheekbone through 3D CT imaging and adjusts the amount of bone cutting and the angle according to the degree of each person’s cheekbone development.
In particular, because the bones are firmly fixed with fixation pins, concerns about side effects such as cheek sagging and nonunion can be reduced.

Next, square jaw surgery adjusts the angle of the jawline to help prevent concerns such as an overly narrow chin appearance.
It also helps prevent side effects such as secondary angles or step deformities through long-curve resection, and through cortical bone resection, it can also be expected to improve the frontal view.

Finally, chin surgery is performed differently depending on each person’s chin condition, such as a wide chin, receded chin, long chin, or short chin.
In the case of a wide chin, a T osteotomy or V osteotomy is used to remove the central bone fragment and reduce the width of the front chin.
For a receded chin, the chin tip is cut horizontally and advanced forward before being fixed.
Third, for a long chin, the middle bone is removed through horizontal osteotomy to reduce the length of the front chin, after which it is fixed.
In the case of a short chin, the wide area is narrowed and moved downward to correct the short chin.

So far, we have introduced facial contouring surgery by area.
As for the recovery period after facial contouring surgery, which many people are most curious about, there may be differences depending on each person’s recovery speed.
For this part, it would be best to visit the clinic and check after having a thorough consultation with the dedicated medical staff.
