Hello. This is AB Plastic Surgery Clinic.
Today, let’s talk about short nose surgery for those who have a short nose.

A short nose is characterized by an upturned tip,
so the key point is to find the proper position of the nose and
perform balanced short nose surgery.
Also, because the nose is short, the nostrils appear excessively visible
when viewed from the front,
so correction is performed by lengthening the nose.
In order to achieve refined and elegant short nose surgery,
the position of the patient’s own cartilage must be fundamentally repositioned.

Short nose surgery methods can be divided into a total of three cases.
In the first case, where the tip of the nose is upturned,
that is, if the columella is positioned higher than the alar,
additional cartilage is grafted between the septal cartilage and the alar cartilage
to lower the tip of the nose and help the nose appear longer.

The second case is an upturned nostril area.
Even if only the nostrils are turned upward, the nose tip can appear lifted,
so the upper part of the alar cartilage is cut
and fixed lower down,
helping the tip of the nose appear lowered
and the nose look longer vertically.

The third case is when the entire nose is short.
In this case, cartilage shaping surgery and cartilage grafting are performed,
and in addition, augmentation rhinoplasty is carried out
to increase the overall length from the starting point of the nose to the tip.
