Hello, this is AB Plastic Surgery :)
Today, together with Director Bae In-ho,
we’ll look at the differences between a forehead lift and a brow lift.

A forehead lift can be described as a procedure that pulls up the forehead skin and fixes it in place.
Some areas of the skin are attached very firmly to the bone tissue,
so after widely releasing the attached areas, the skin is pulled and fixed to the bone.

When fixing it to the bone, there are slight differences depending on the doctor or hospital. A small hole may be made in the bone
and it may be tied with thick thread, or
an material called Endotine may be used.
Endotine is made of a dissolvable material and takes about 6 months to dissolve,
though this may vary from person to person.

A brow lift refers to a procedure that pulls sagging skin around the eyes not from above the forehead,
but from below the eyebrows.
The skin is cut and pulled from beneath the eyebrows, and because the outer skin is usually removed more,
a brow lift is performed when the skin on the outer side is more saggy.
If necessary, the orbicularis oculi muscle on the inner side may be manipulated, or fat removal may also be done.

A forehead lift pulls the skin overall, which also relaxes the forehead
and pulls up the glabella and the skin below the eyebrows.
A brow lift holds the skin from below the eyebrows, so the skin below the eyebrows is
pulled up, while the upper part slightly drops down.
Because of this, some glabellar lines or fine wrinkles may appear.
If the skin on the outer side is mainly sagging, or if the distance between the eyebrows and the eyes is wide, a brow lift is recommended.
However, if the eyebrows have generally drooped and are pressing on the eyes, or if the distance between the eyebrows and the eyes is narrow,
a forehead lift is recommended.

A brow lift has almost no side effects, but if too much skin is removed, the eyes
may not close as well, though this is extremely rare.
A forehead lift is a larger operation than a brow lift, so there may be a bit more bleeding or bruising,
and in some cases, people may complain of headaches or nausea.
In such cases, measures need to be taken, so it is important to understand this well before surgery.

Of course, it is possible. However, if a revision surgery is done later in life,
because scars have formed from the first procedure, it may be different from the initial surgery.
Age is not important, but the decision should be made after considering the patient's preference, aesthetics, situation, and various other factors,
and if there is a lot of concern, it is not something we strongly recommend. If possible, there are also cases where it can be covered with eye surgery.
Today, we looked at forehead lifts and brow lifts.
Even if it is not strictly eye surgery, there are ways to improve the appearance by performing surgery on the upper area of the eyes,
and forehead lifts and brow lifts are among those methods. I hope you can choose the one that fits your situation and achieve a good result.
