Hello, this is AB Plastic Surgery :)
Today, we’ll look at upper blepharoplasty and cases in which upper blepharoplasty is not recommended.

As a person ages, gravity causes the skin on the face to sag downward.
In particular, the area outside the pupil may sag significantly, making the eyes appear triangular.
In such cases, many people experience irritation around the eyes as discharge collects there, causing stinging and discomfort.
For these people, upper blepharoplasty can remove the sagging skin.
If some of the stretched fat tissue or muscle is also removed, it can improve the sagging and help secure the field of vision.
Because the skin is excised and folded, people who originally had no double eyelids may develop them, and those who already had them may find them become more defined or higher.

The first case is when there is brow ptosis.
Brow ptosis refers to the brow area sagging downward.
Everyone’s brows sag with age, but some people experience more sagging than usual.
The characteristics seen in such cases include many forehead wrinkles and wrinkles between the eyebrows and on the bridge of the nose.
Because brow ptosis brings the eyes and brows closer together so they look cramped, if upper blepharoplasty is performed in this situation, the distance between the eyes and brows may become too short, which can look awkward and give a darker impression.
The second case is when there is ptosis.
Ptosis means difficulty opening the eyes properly because the muscles used to open them are weak.
If someone with ptosis undergoes upper blepharoplasty incorrectly, eyes that already look sleepy may look even sleepier, and the overall impression may seem tired.

For people who find upper blepharoplasty difficult or who do not want their appearance to change significantly, there is brow lift surgery, which removes the sagging skin from just below the brow.
A brow lift improves the sagging skin without creating a double eyelid separately, so you could say it does not change the impression much.
It also has the advantages of faster recovery and becoming natural-looking sooner compared with upper blepharoplasty.
Today, we looked at upper blepharoplasty.
There are various ways to improve sagging eyes, so after consulting with a specialist, choose the surgical method that suits you best!
