Hello, this is AB Plastic Surgery.
Today, we will take a look at ptosis correction.

Ptosis correction is a surgery performed to treat blepharoptosis.
Originally, it is a procedure that adjusts the muscle used to open the eyes in people who have difficulty opening their eyes well,
strengthening the eye-opening force to increase the exposure of the dark iris
and widen the vertical height of the area above and below the eyes.
However, what is meant here by ptosis correction is not for the purpose of disease or disorder,
but rather a cosmetic procedure that makes the eyes appear larger by reducing the degree of correction,
making the eyes look prettier and more defined.

The first type of eye that is recommended for ptosis correction is eyes that look sleepy.
Even if it is not severe blepharoptosis, if you often look a little tired
or people have told you, "You look sleepy" or "Are you tired?"
you may be able to give those around you a more defined impression after ptosis correction.
The second type is when you open your eyes using your forehead.
If the muscles that open the eyes are weak, you may try to open your eyes by using your forehead, which puts tension on the forehead.
In such cases, because the forehead keeps folding, many wrinkles can form.
When ptosis correction is performed in this situation, the force used to open the eyes is strengthened,
which reduces the strain on the forehead and can help prevent forehead wrinkles from forming.

People who want a glamorous, high double-eyelid line can see good results.
If you want a higher double-eyelid line, you need to set the position of the folded eyelid skin higher.
At this point, the amount of eyelid skin that the eye-opening muscle must lift becomes greater, requiring more strength,
but if the eye-opening muscle becomes overburdened and you end up unable to open your eyes properly,
the line may be higher than the eye-opening force, making the eyelid skin below the fold look puffy
and, at the same time, making the eyes look sleepy, which often results in what is called sausage eyes.
Even if there is no ptosis at the moment, if the eye-opening force is insufficient after double-eyelid surgery,
the eyes may look sleepy and sausage eyes may develop.
If ptosis correction is performed appropriately, the eye-opening force is strengthened, which can prevent sausage eyes
and create a higher, more glamorous line.
Second, it can help prevent the double eyelid from loosening.
If the eye-opening force is weak, the skin may not fold firmly at the fixation point of the newly formed double-eyelid line,
so the fixation can become loose and may eventually come undone.
By strengthening the eye-opening force with ptosis correction, the eyelid skin folds and lifts firmly at the fixation point of the double-eyelid line,
making the chance of it loosening much lower.
