Ear cartilage is sometimes used in nose surgery.

The ear has its own unique shape, and that shape is maintained by cartilage.
If the outer edge of the ear and the area in the middle that looks like a bridge are damaged, the shape of the ear can become distorted.
Therefore, the areas most commonly used during surgery are the two areas marked in the figure above.
Even if these areas are harvested, there is little chance of causing visible deformity of the ear,
and because of the inherent curve, the usable area is wider than you might think.
However, since it is round-shaped cartilage, there are limits to carving it into long pieces.
Therefore, even if you have an area with piercings, the tissue can be harvested while avoiding that area sufficiently.
Also, depending on your own anatomy and the surgical method, there are cases where ear cartilage is not used,
so please do not worry and we recommend starting with a consultation!
