Hello, this is AB Plastic Surgery.
I wrote this post to answer the questions you have been wondering about.
Q. There are so many terms like natural adhesion, buried suture, and non-incisional. What’s the difference?
A. Double eyelid surgery can be broadly divided into “non-incisional,” “incisional,” and “partial incisional” methods. Among them, the non-incisional double eyelid surgery is also referred to as “natural adhesion” or “buried suture.” The detailed surgical techniques, such as how many tiny openings are made or whether one knot is created or multiple knots are made, vary slightly from doctor to doctor and clinic to clinic. But in principle, the procedure does not involve making an incision; instead, small openings are made in the skin, and the suture is passed through the skin, muscle, and tarsal plate to create adhesion.
I believe the term “natural adhesion” arose largely from marketing influence. Because it creates adhesion naturally without making an incision, the term “natural adhesion” came into use, and it is used alongside “non-incisional” and “buried suture.” To summarize once again, the finer techniques may differ slightly, but in broad terms, non-incisional, natural adhesion, and buried suture can all be considered the same type of surgery.
If you have any other questions, please leave a comment. I will check and reply. Thank you.
