Hello, I am Director Jo Dong-pil of AB Plastic Surgery.
I will answer the questions you have been curious about.
Q. I have severe cheek hollowing. If I get contour surgery, can it improve a bit? Are there any other methods besides contouring?
AB. If cheek hollowing is severe, it is necessary to look at the area in a more divided way.
First, if the area below the side cheekbone is hollow, it is often caused by insufficient volume, sagging skin, or, more recently, treatment with Botox.
In this case, there is some room for improvement with zygoma reduction surgery and square jaw surgery in the area below the side cheekbone, but the hollowing will be relieved rather than completely flattened.
In such cases, surgery is possible, and afterward, if a little volume is added to that area, a smoother face shape can be achieved.
Next, if a lot of weight has been lost and the area around the mouth becomes hollow, it is actually difficult to improve this with contour surgery alone. In that area, lifting or adding volume is usually more helpful in creating a facial line, and contour surgery can still be performed. However, if volume enhancement and lifting are done together when contour surgery is performed, significant improvement can be achieved.
