Hello, this is Director Jo Dong-pil of AB Plastic Surgery.
I’ll answer the questions you’ve been curious about.
Q. Do buccal fat removal procedures only need to be done when getting contour surgery? Can’t they be done on their own?ㅠㅠ If they can be done separately, I’m curious about the recovery period!
AB.
Buccal fat refers to the fat located inside the soft tissue, mainly from the front part of the masseter muscle area in the cheek to the temple area, and because it is different from the fat under the skin, removal is usually performed rather than suction.
Buccal fat removal is not something that can only be done during contour surgery; it can also be done on its own.
However, if you are already planning contour surgery, doing it together is much more effective.
When performed on its own, the usual recovery period is about one week, but this can vary greatly from person to person.
In particular, since the surgery is not difficult or complicated, you can return to daily life and work immediately after the procedure.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to leave a comment. Thank you.
