Hello. I’m Director Seo Chan-eol of AB Plastic Surgery.
I’ll answer the questions many of you have had about rhinoplasty!
Today’s question is about a concern many people have after surgery.
The first question is: If I sleep on my side after nose surgery, will the shape change?
The likelihood is low. Usually, the internal space of the nose is not dissected to a size much larger than what is needed to place the silicone implant, and because the inside is fixed in place, this risk is not significant unless you sleep face down to the point that the tip of the nose or the bridge is pressed.
The second question is: They say you should also be careful about smiling, but will the shape of the nose change a lot?
This is also unlikely. However, if you had alar reduction, the wound may open, and if your skin is thick and the tip of the nose has been raised a lot, the pressure may be too strong and cause deformity, so in such cases, care is needed.
