Q. If my nostrils are small, will they become even smaller after nose surgery?

To answer first: they do not get smaller. Just as stretching a round rubber band into an oval shape does not greatly change the area itself, after nose surgery the nostrils basically become a more elongated shape than before, but the size itself does not become much smaller. Of course, in cases where the nostrils are too wide and a nostril reduction is performed by removing part of the nostrils, it can affect the nostril size. However, if you need nostril reduction but already have small nostrils, the design can be done in a way that does not affect the size of the nostrils. In addition, while the visible area of the nostrils from the outside does not change much after surgery, when we perform nose surgery, cartilage is used inside the nose to create a support column, so the inner space of the nose does become smaller by the thickness of this column. However, because this column is very thin, at about 1 to 2 mm, there are not many cases where people actually feel that the inside of the nose has become significantly narrower.
