Following Makmiman (MAKE미남), the popular Makme Girl (MAKEGirl) is also currently airing.

For this episode featuring the YouTuber known as the “hate comment collector,” our AB Plastic Surgery team participated as the Doctors Squad.

In her story, she wrote that she has been going through a hard time because of continuous appearance criticism, cosplay, and even wanting to quit YouTube.

Appearance criticism... I really think this should disappear. Even if someone has a job that puts them in the public eye, they are still just like the rest of us, and it hurts when they are attacked for their appearance. It makes me even more curious about what kind of story led her to write this. As soon as the panel started talking about hate comments, their faces began to harden. It feels like celebrities are destined to deal with hate comments, since it seems there is no one who has never experienced them. So everyone looks upset.

She has been working as a cosplay creator for nearly seven years. She said she appeared wearing the costume of her favorite character! It’s the costume of that legendary “Nico Nico Nii~♥” character^^ Director Bae said you might recognize her if you see her in person! Maybe everyone has seen it at least once, but just doesn’t remember~ hehe.

Because her body type is on the fuller side, she received many hate comments such as, “Why is a pig doing that?” and “You’re old—why are you doing that character?”

Why does she look even sadder while saying it so calmlyㅠㅠ Please, let this kind of hate stop! The panelists also thought the level of the comments was seriousㅠㅠ

The hate comment collector said cosplay seems to make her movements bolder and give her confidence, because through flashy makeup and elaborate outfits, she looks different from her usual self. If cosplay disappeared from her life, it would feel like she was logging out of realityㅠㅠ

She said she always uses double eyelid tape because her eyes are uneven! Anyone who has used double eyelid tape will relate~ It’s so uncomfortableㅠㅠ She said it is still very uncomfortable, but animation characters almost never have uneven eyes, so it can’t be helpedㅠ

She said that rather than simple comments about being ugly, she sometimes gets comments like, “Don’t ruin my character.” She thinks people might say, “You don’t even lose weight or take care of yourself, so why cosplay that character?” She says that while she laughs and says, “Well, that’s a fact,” those comments still hurt and bother herㅠㅠ She understands why people say such things, and in fact, she ends up feeling sorry to that character herself. She started because she loved cosplay, but it seems like these issues have left her with even more worriesㅠ

Our AB Plastic Surgery Director Bae In-ho thought right away that she doesn’t seem to be a good candidate for surgeryㅠㅠ Dr. Bae judged this to be a very difficult case. Because she has a generally wide head shape and thicker skin, he wasn’t sure surgery alone could bring about a big change. Director Bae In-ho was also worried that surgery might make her suffer even more from haters. You can really feel that he is sincerely concerned about the YouTuber, not just thinking about surgery.

I was shocked because even her silhouette looked like a completely different person! She lost a lot of weight, and above all, her confident pose made it look like her self-esteem had really come back to life^^ Even the panelists were shocked, and even the Doctors Squad was completely surprised, so that says it all!

She said that in her daily life, because she lacked confidence in both her body type and her appearance, she didn’t really feel the joy of dressing up except when doing cosplay. After the transformation, she said she finally began to feel the joy of dressing up and taking photos just like everyone elseㅠㅠ That was such a heartbreaking statement, and I hope only happy things come her way from now on!

Her nose seemed a bit low and wide, so to improve that we inserted an implant, raised the tip, refined the shape, and reduced the width of the nostrils. And because her eyes were naturally uneven, she had also been very concerned about that part, so we performed double eyelid surgery to make them more symmetrical. She also had a complex about her angular, broad-looking face shape, so we performed bone surgery to reduce the width as well. According to Director Bae In-ho of AB Plastic Surgery, swelling from the contour surgery still seems to remain a little at the moment! She’ll likely look even prettier once the swelling goes down, so I’m very curious about that too^^
