Hello, this is AB Plastic Surgery.
Today, we will answer a question about rhinoplasty.
Q. What is non-implant rhinoplasty?
A. As recent rhinoplasty trends have changed, many people are becoming interested in non-implant tip rhinoplasty.
In general, during rhinoplasty, the bridge of the nose is raised with silicone, and the tip of the nose is raised with cartilage. At this time, if the bridge already has enough height and silicone is not really needed, the surgery is performed only on the tip using cartilage. This is commonly called "non-implant rhinoplasty."
In the past, the bridge height was considered more important than the tip height, so silicone was the main focus of nose surgery. Recently, however, tip height has become more important, so the main focus of nose surgery is "cartilage." Cartilage includes septal cartilage, ear cartilage, rib cartilage, and more. The appropriate material differs depending on each person, the desired tip height, the degree of tip movement, and other factors.
In non-implant nose surgery, the more important point is actually the change in the front view rather than the side view. Many people come for consultations because their nose looks wide or large. Among them, some are also afraid of using silicone. To make the nose slimmer from the front, the desired improvement can be achieved by combining the necessary procedures such as bulbous nose correction, osteotomy, and alar reduction.
I hope this answers your question.
For now, please do not worry too much and consider getting a consultation.
Thank you :)
