Hello, this is Director Seo Chan-eol from AB Plastic Surgery.
I will answer the questions you have been curious about.
Q. Does rhinoplasty make nasolabial folds worse?
A. At first, it may look worse because of swelling around the nose,
but after about a month, once the major swelling goes down, it returns to how it was.
When swelling is severe after surgery, the tissue around the area above the nasolabial fold becomes swollen,
but since the supporting ligaments below that area remain the same, it can appear more pronounced.
Nasolabial folds deepen with aging because the maxilla recedes,
and as the supporting ligaments loosen and the fat layer descends, so they are not closely related to rhinoplasty.
I hope this answer was helpful.
If you have any other questions, please leave them in the comments and I will answer them.
Thank you.
