Hello, this is AB Plastic Surgery.
Today, we will look at the before-and-after photos of a 7-month postoperative patient who underwent facial contouring surgery at our AB Plastic Surgery,
a case of contouring surgery considered together with three-part facial contouring and double jaw surgery.

*Surgical results may vary depending on the individual’s circumstances.
Facial shape has a greater impact on daily life than you might think.
The patient had a strong impression of a generally long face,
and their Class III malocclusion had already been corrected through previous orthodontic treatment.
Therefore, rather than a typical double jaw surgery aimed at functionally improving the bite,
we proceeded with contouring surgery to improve facial proportions and lines while maintaining the already stable bite.
(However, because there were areas where adjustment of the upper and lower jaw positions was needed, the plan was carried out as contouring surgery based on double jaw surgery.)
In particular, the chin was long and projected significantly forward,
so the lower jaw appeared prominent like a square jaw, and this made the midface
look relatively short, creating an impression of reduced facial three-dimensionality.

After thorough consultation, we maintained the existing stable bite
and established a contouring surgery plan to improve facial proportions,
considering the facial balance and proportions that are important in double jaw surgery.
✅ Upper jaw: Moved upward by 5 mm to reduce midface length and improve facial proportions
✅ Lower jaw: Moved backward by 7 mm to naturally retract the protruding lower jaw
✅ Chin: Reduced both length and width to create a more refined chin line
✅ Mandibular angle: Although not large, it was refined to soften the jawline and create smoother contours
Changes after 7 months following double jaw + facial contouring surgery for a protruding jaw and long face shape

Facial contouring surgery, double jaw surgery, chin, square jaw
After surgery, the overall mandibular angle line became much softer,
and the strong impression caused by the existing protruding jaw, square jaw, and long face shape was noticeably improved.
As the distinctive strong impression was softened, a more balanced proportion and greater three-dimensionality could be seen overall.
Facial contouring surgery and double jaw surgery are not simply procedures that reduce or move bone;
it is important to consider bite stability, facial proportions, harmony between the front and side views, and the overall impression together.
We will continue to provide more accurate and helpful information
through a variety of cases.

Results vary by individual, and please confirm the procedure result that is appropriate for you through a precise consultation.
