Hello!
Today, let’s talk about accessory breast surgery.

Among the questions related to accessory breasts,
one of the most frequently asked is:
‘How painful is accessory breast surgery?’
Today, we’ll talk about this with Gomi, who has personally experienced it and is also working in the field.

Q) When did you have the accessory breast removal surgery?
A) It was done at a general surgery clinic about 10 years ago.
Since I was a student, my armpit was pinched,
it hurt and felt uncomfortable,
and when I touched it, it felt hard
and round, so I had surgery.

Q) What was the pain like on the day of surgery?
A) At the time, I had surgery under general anesthesia,
and once the anesthesia wore off, it hurt a little.
The pain on the day was about like having body aches.

Q) How long did it hurt after surgery?
A) It hurt for about 2 days,
and from day 3 it gradually decreased,
but I wore a bandage for those 3 days.

Q) How were you from 2 weeks after accessory breast surgery?
A) It was definitely much better than right after surgery.
Even though my arm still felt a bit tight,
it didn’t cause any particular problems in daily life.

Q) Were you hospitalized after the accessory breast surgery?
A) Yes, I was hospitalized.

Q) After joining the company and seeing accessory breast surgery,
what differences did you notice?
A) I got to see the accessory breast surgery process in person.
If I had to point out differences, first, instead of general anesthesia,
it is possible to choose an incision method with sedation anesthesia.
Fatty and glandular types are treated with minimal incisions,
and because the skin is excised along the armpit crease line,
it was different from my surgery, where there was no choice of incision method.

Another difference was that the compression bandage is worn for only one day,
and it was characteristic that you can go home without being hospitalized.
In particular, our patients seem to recover well,
changing into corrective underwear the next day,
so most appear to regain their condition in about a week.

Q) Do you have any helpful tips for recovery after accessory breast surgery?
A) After a few days, it wasn’t very uncomfortable,
so I forgot about it quickly and went on with my life.
I think accessory breast surgery is a process that doesn’t really need any special recovery tricks.
However, when raising my arms, I would briefly feel a pulling sensation,
so I was just a little careful when lifting my arms.

That was our conversation with Gomi.
Accessory breast surgery pain varies from person to person,
but in most cases it is mild to moderate,
so please remember that with proper care,
quick return to daily life is possible.
