Hello!
Today, let’s begin with a story that is both surprising
and a little heartbreaking.
Acupuncture at a Korean medicine clinic worth 10 million won
in an effort to reduce breast size?!
Apparently, cases like this are actually fairly common.

This is something we often see in the exam room.
From the patient’s point of view,
I’m sure it comes from a desperate feeling!

But scientifically speaking,
reducing breast size with acupuncture
is inefficient.

But wait!
Can acupuncture really make
breasts smaller?

To be precise,
there is almost no chance
that acupuncture will make breasts smaller.
That is because breast size is determined by
very complex and structural factors,
such as genetics, hormones,
fat mass,
and glandular tissue.
However, there is no scientific evidence
that acupuncture fundamentally changes
these structural factors.

In the end, claims that acupuncture burns fat
or reduces glandular tissue
are also not true.
There is no scientific proof of this.
At most, as swelling or bodily fluid is temporarily reduced,
it may feel like the area has gotten a little smaller,
but that is not a lasting or structural change.

If you received 10 million won worth of treatment,
the financial loss must have been enormous too.
At that amount, I feel sorry, because it seems like
consulting a specialist and undergoing breast reduction surgery
would have been a more effective and realistic choice.
The cost of breast reduction surgery performed in Korea
varies a little from hospital to hospital,
but in many cases it is under 10 million won.

So why choose such an inefficient method?
Above all, it likely came from a strong fear of surgery.
Worried about incisions, recovery time, and scars,
they looked for a non-surgical method
and chose acupuncture.
On top of that, when you hear people around you say,
"I got acupuncture and it worked," or read reviews online,
it’s hard not to be tempted.

Even so,
what I want to say to those who choose this approach is
that I’m not saying Korean medicine is bad
or that it is wrong.
But for a problem like breast reduction,
where the anatomical structure is clearly involved,
this is not an area that acupuncture can change.
Before spending a lot of money and time,
I hope you first receive accurate medical counseling
and come across verified information.

What has been scientifically proven
is ultimately the stable and efficient option.
The more desperate you are,
the more calmly you need to approach it.
Just because surgery is frightening,
relying on an inefficient method
will only end up costing you two or three times more
in money, pain, and inconvenience.

Getting the right effect all at once
seems very important.
