When Director Jang Wook of Objet Plastic Surgery conducts consultations, he does not automatically recommend fat grafting. Instead, he explains whether grafting is needed based on each patient’s facial condition.
When under-eye fat repositioning and fat grafting
should be done together

- People whose front cheekbones are flat and hollow
Most of the people who come in for consultations have a hollow front cheekbone shape. If you look closely at the face, the side cheekbones are protruding while the front cheekbones are flat, which is a typical East Asian facial structure. In such cases, the face tends to look flat overall.

However, many people do not realize at all whether their front cheekbones are hollow.
In these cases, while performing under-eye fat repositioning, it is much better to slightly restore volume to the front cheekbones and create a natural S-line from under the eyes to the cheekbones, which can make the face look livelier and younger.
- When under-eye bulging and a hollow under-eye groove coexist
These are people who show a complex pattern in which part of the under-eye fat protrudes, while the lower area of the protruding fat—that is, the orbital bone area—is hollow.
For people whose under-eye fat partly bulges and whose lower area, namely the orbital bone area beneath the protruding fat, is hollow, the condition involves both bulging and hollowness at the same time. In such cases, it is better to address the protruding under-eye fat with under-eye fat repositioning and use single-fat-cell grafting in the hollow area at the boundary of the orbital bone to slightly soften the contour. For this reason, we recommend surgery that combines single-fat-cell grafting for these patients.

So far, we have briefly looked at whether it is better to receive fat grafting together when undergoing under-eye fat repositioning surgery.
When you go in for a consultation about under-eye fat repositioning surgery,
after hearing reviews from here and there that emphasize only the negative aspects of fat grafting,
many people come in with the basic idea that
'I will never get fat grafting,
no matter what.'
Rather than deciding in advance that you will or will not get fat grafting and then coming in for a consultation,
it is better to approach the consultation with the mindset of
- What benefits there are if fat grafting is done together
- Why my facial type needs fat grafting
This seems to be the direction that leads to better surgical results
