When it comes to the eyes and nose
Objet Plastic Surgery

Most patients
consider only double eyelid surgery
as a way to improve the shape of the eyes.
In reality, depending on the condition of the skin
and the amount of fat each person has,
combining it with other procedures
can be more effective.
Today, when doing Gangnam double eyelid surgery,
I’d like to talk about
which procedures are good to have together.

Cases where 'ptosis correction' is needed during double eyelid surgery
Ptosis correction is a procedure that strengthens
the ability to open the eyes in people with weak eyelid-opening strength.
It helps the eyes open clearly
instead of only opening halfway.
Some people are born with weak eyelid-opening strength,
and others develop it later in life.
In such cases,
if you only create a double eyelid
without ptosis correction,
even if a double eyelid forms after surgery,
the eyes may still not open clearly
and can look sleepy.
For these patients, combining ptosis correction
can help the eyes open more clearly and refreshingly.
Both non-incisional and incisional methods are possible!
For younger people with little skin sagging,
it is possible to naturally define the double eyelid line
with a non-incisional approach
and, by turning the eyelid over and through the conjunctiva,
tie the Mueller muscle to perform ptosis correction at the same time.
For cases with significant skin sagging,
where skin needs to be removed,
or where there is a lot of fat on the upper eyelid
and thick tissue that needs to be reduced,
ptosis correction can be performed
by doing incisional double eyelid surgery
and pulling the levator muscle.

Cases where 'fat repositioning downward' is needed during double eyelid surgery
Each person has a different eye shape.
Some people have a lot of fat
and thick upper eyelids,
while others have little fat,
so the upper eyelid looks sunken,
with the bony contours around the eyes
showing through as they are.
When the area above the eyes is sunken like this,
the double eyelid line can also become less distinct,
making the overall appearance look tired
and older.
For these people, while undergoing Gangnam double eyelid surgery,
a procedure that moves orbital fat downward
at the same time can be effective.
What is 'fat repositioning downward'?
Fat repositioning downward is a procedure in which
orbital fat that has been pulled backward
is carefully separated from the surrounding tissue
and brought forward again.
To locate and bring out the orbital fat,
the skin must be incised and the surgeon must go in to find it,
so it cannot be done during non-incisional double eyelid surgery;
it is only possible through incisional double eyelid surgery.

Cases where 'fat removal' is needed during double eyelid surgery
Simply put,
double eyelids form when, as the eyes open,
part of the eyelid skin is pulled along with them.
When there is a lot of fat on the upper eyelid,
even if a double eyelid is forced to form,
the crease does not form effectively
due to the fat inside.
So when doing Gangnam double eyelid surgery,
if there is a large amount of fat on the upper eyelid,
some of it must be removed.
Fat removal is possible with both
non-incisional double eyelid surgery and incisional double eyelid surgery.
In the case of non-incisional double eyelid surgery,
even though it is called 'non-incisional,'
in fact, about 4 to 5 small openings are made on the upper eyelid,
and the skin is naturally adhered through sutures to create the double eyelid.
Among them, one of the openings is made slightly larger,
so that the upper eyelid fat can be carefully removed
through the small opening.
Patients without skin sagging
who have orbital fat that needs to be removed
are suitable for non-incisional double eyelid fat removal.
However, if there is too much fat
and the eyelids are thick,
depending on the case, the non-incisional method may cause
the double eyelid line to loosen easily,
so we recommend incisional double eyelid surgery
with fat removal at the same time.

Cases where 'fat grafting' is needed during double eyelid surgery
What is 'fat grafting'?
Fat grafting means harvesting your own fat
and injecting it again using a syringe.
Therefore, both non-incisional double eyelid surgery
and incisional double eyelid surgery
can be performed together with fat grafting.
It can be done at the same time as
fat repositioning downward in the upper eyelid,
or separately.
Because it can differ depending on each patient's condition,
it is best to visit a Gangnam double eyelid surgery clinic,
have a direct consultation,
and then make a decision.

Today, I talked about procedures that are good to have together
when doing Gangnam double eyelid surgery.
