Hello,
This is Objet Plastic Surgery Clinic.
Previously, we took time to look at the types of thread lifts. Today, to provide enough information about thread lifts, we will cover in detail at Sillifting Best Place why thread lifts may not be suitable for certain people and the related information.

Recently, among non-surgical ways to maintain a youthful appearance, thread lifting has become a trend.
This procedure, considered when skin elasticity is lost or wrinkles increase, involves inserting medical threads into the skin to improve elasticity and create a lifting effect. However, while it would be nice if it could restore youth and beauty for everyone, please keep in mind that under certain conditions it may be difficult to achieve the expected results, and there is also a risk of side effects or infection.

Who is not a good candidate for thread lifting?
For cases such as people who do not have much fat but have sagging skin, or people who have too much fat and loose skin, there is not much that can actually be pulled by inserting threads.
So for such people, it may be better to consider surgery that directly incises the skin or directly pulls it. With thread lifting, there is a limit to how much can be lifted in cases where there is too much fat or significant sagging.

When using threads to lift sagging fat, even if cog threads are placed properly or any type of thread is inserted, the fat is soft and can easily come loose.
This phenomenon is called “cheese-wiring.”
Think of tying cheese with a thread and then pulling it; the cheese will be cut in the middle and the thread will slip out.
In this way, no matter how good the thread is, if the fat comes loose, it can no longer function as a thread.
Also, people with thin or sensitive skin should be careful, as thread lifting may cause other side effects.
How long does a thread lift last?
These days, even if the threads are very good, they tend to come out within 6 months to 1 year, so we recommend using dissolvable threads that last about 6 months to 1 year.
Usually, after about 1 year, it is judged that the effect of the threads is gone, so at Sillifting Best Place, we recommend having the procedure done again at that time.

Are there any side effects?
First of all, as mentioned earlier, the threads need to be placed well into the fat, but if the barbs on the threads catch on the skin, dimpling can appear as bumps.
If this happens, it must be checked quickly and the thread should be released or properly placed deeper so it does not catch during the procedure.

At Sillifting Best Place, because the procedure is done through tiny holes rather than an incision, some people worry that blood vessels or nerves might be injured.
However, since a cannula is used, it is extremely rare for blood vessels or nerves to be injured.

Precautions after the procedure?
Thread lifting is still a non-incisional procedure, but because something is being inserted into the body, the body naturally reacts.
Swelling may last for about 1 to 2 weeks, and if bruising occurs, that may also last about 1 to 2 weeks. Up to one month is the period during which fixation is formed in the body.
So for about a month before and after, applying too much force to the inserted area, making overly strong facial expressions, or keeping it tightly pulled with a facial strap is known to help improve long-term durability.

So far, we have talked about thread lifting.
Because it is a non-incisional procedure, it is less burdensome and has the advantage of a faster recovery, but there are limitations to the procedure, so it is not suitable for everyone.
Based on the points mentioned above, it is important to understand both the benefits and limitations of thread lifting and make a choice that is right for you.

Because results can vary depending on an individual’s skin condition, amount of fat, age, lifestyle, and needs, a careful approach is necessary from the beginning.
Although the risk of side effects is low, sufficient consultation with the medical staff should come first.
If you are wondering whether thread lifting is right for your face, please visit Objet Plastic Surgery Clinic, known as Sillifting Best Place, and consult with the medical staff.
