Celebrity Double Eyelids
Can You Make Them Exactly the Same?
Dr. Park Si-hyeon Answers!

Hello.
This is Objet Plastic Surgery.
One of the questions we hear
very often in the consultation room
is this.
"This celebrity’s double eyelids.
Can I make mine exactly like that too?"
Many people show us a photo
and say,
"Please make it like this person."
We understand completely.
Wanting to look at a pair of eyes you find beautiful
and wishing yours could be like that too
is only natural.
But there is one important point
we have to make here.
Copying a celebrity’s double eyelids
exactly as they are
and bringing out the attractive features
of those eyes in a way that suits your own eyes
are completely different things.
Today, we’ll go over whether
celebrity double eyelids can be made exactly the same,
and if that is difficult,
how you should approach the process
so you can create double eyelids without regrets,
one step at a time.
If you read to the end,
you’ll have a clearer idea of how to prepare before a consultation,
and how to decide on double eyelid surgery
based on the right criteria.
“Please make it exactly like this person!”
Is that possible?
To start with the conclusion,
reproducing a celebrity’s double eyelids
exactly as they are
is realistically difficult.

If you bring in a photo
and say, "Please make it like this person,"
no matter which clinic you go to,
you will hear that
"making it 100% identical is difficult."
That’s because the appearance of the eyes
is not determined by the double eyelid line alone.
Eyelid thickness, the strength used to open the eyes,
the distance between the eyes and the eyebrows,
the degree of eye protrusion,
skin elasticity, and fat distribution as well.
All of these factors work together
and create the final impression of the eyes.
Let’s go into a little more detail.
Why is eyelid thickness important?
With thicker eyelids,
even if a line is created,
there is more skin folding,
so the double eyelid appears less distinct.
On the other hand, with thinner eyelids,
even if the line is made at the same height,
it appears much sharper.
So even a line of the same width
can look completely different
depending on eyelid thickness.
The same goes for the strength of eye opening.
People who use their forehead muscles as well
when opening their eyes
may not lift their eyelids as much.
In such cases,
even if a line is created,
the eyes may still look small
or appear droopy.
So sometimes,
it may be necessary to improve
not just the line,
but the actual strength of eye opening itself.

What about the distance between the eyes and eyebrows?
If that distance is narrow,
it is difficult to make the double eyelid width wide.
On the other hand, if the distance is wider,
even a narrow line can create a more open and refreshed look.
Let’s take an example.
Suppose celebrity A has an inner double eyelid,
and you like that eye shape,
so you decide to make the same line.
But if your own eyelids are originally thicker,
even with the same line,
the impression may end up looking completely different from A’s.
It may even look cramped
or make you seem sleepy.
Conversely, if your own eyes are naturally more protruding,
then making them into an inner double eyelid like A’s
may make the eyes look smaller.
The degree of eye protrusion also affects the final result.
Protruding eyes can appear relatively distinct
even with a narrow line,
while deep-set eyes
show the same line less noticeably.
So rather than copying a celebrity’s double eyelids exactly,
it is much more important to identify
which part of those eyes feels attractive
and to bring that feature out naturally
in a way that fits the structure of your own eyes.
When you bring a celebrity photo,
prepare this too
Bringing a celebrity photo itself
is not a problem at all.
In fact, it can be very helpful during a consultation.
What matters when you bring a photo,
though, is clearly organizing
"what exactly you like about these eyes."

First, look at the photo
and break down the parts you like
into smaller details.
Where does the line start?
How wide is the line?
What shape is the outer end of the line?
If you come prepared with details like these,
you can have a much more specific conversation
during the consultation.
For example, you could say something like this.
"Like this person,
I want the front part to be an in-out shape
and the back part to extend straight
without dropping down."
"Like this person,
I don’t want the double eyelid width to be too wide;
I like a natural look."
The more specifically you describe it like this,
the easier it becomes for the doctor
not only to understand the direction you want,
but also to suggest how it can be achieved
with your own eye structure.

In the end, what matters most
is analyzing your own eyes.
The goal is not to make celebrity double eyelids exactly the same,
but to figure out how to bring out the attractive features
of those eyes in your own eyes.
To do that, above all else,
it is important to accurately understand
the condition of your own eyes.
Whether you use your forehead to open your eyes,
whether your eyelids are thick or thin,
and whether your eyes are protruding or deep-set.
It is a good idea to check
these basic characteristics in advance.
There is also a simple way to check for yourself.

Look in the mirror
and slowly open and close your eyes repeatedly.
At this time, if wrinkles form on your forehead
when you open your eyes,
it may be possible that your eye-opening strength is relatively weak.
You can get a rough idea of eyelid thickness
by gently pinching the eyelid with your finger
while the eyes are closed.
If it feels thick when pinched,
you likely have more fat.
If it feels thin,
you likely have less fat.
If you do these basic checks before your consultation,
you’ll be able to understand the doctor’s explanation
much better.

And during the consultation,
be sure to check how carefully
your eyes are being analyzed,
and whether the doctor gives detailed explanations
about why a certain method is recommended.

Today, we talked about whether
celebrity double eyelids can be made exactly the same,
and if not, how you should approach it.
In the end, the important thing is not
copying a celebrity’s double eyelids exactly,
but figuring out what makes those eyes attractive
and bringing that out naturally
in a way that suits your own eye structure.
That way, even after surgery,
you can feel like,
"These are my eyes, but prettier."

At Objet Plastic Surgery,
Dr. Park Si-hyeon carefully analyzes each patient’s eye condition during consultations,
then clearly identifies what kind of look they want,
and explains exactly how those features can be achieved
with the patient’s own eyes.
We consider it the basic principle of care
to tell patients when surgery is not necessary,
to explain accurately why a certain procedure is truly needed,
and to guide them clearly.
Rather than deciding quickly without preparation,
we recommend taking enough time to think it through
and get a consultation.
This has been Objet Plastic Surgery.
Thank you.
