What about Gangnam Thermage?
If the same device is used,
will the results be the same?
Many people think that because Thermage FLX uses the same device,
the results will be similar
regardless of which clinic they visit.
However, that is not the case in actual clinical practice.
Even when the same Thermage FLX device is used,
the approach may vary depending on:
how the skin is analyzed,
how much energy is delivered to which areas,
how the structure of the face and the direction of aging are interpreted,
and the order and criteria used to design the treatment.
If you are considering Gangnam Thermage, rather than focusing first on the name of the device,
it is important to also look at the standards used to operate it.

Why do approaches differ even with the same Gangnam Thermage treatment?
There is a café I visited again not long ago.
When I first visited, I simply thought it was a place with delicious pour-over coffee.
“How different could it really be if the coffee tastes different?”
That was about the extent of my curiosity.
But I returned not to confirm the taste again.
I wanted to observe the process behind that flavor in a little more detail.
The café did not research only its coffee beans.
They designed the mineral ratio of the water used to brew the coffee themselves,
and selected different filters according to the purpose of the extraction.

The lactose-free milk was not simply used as-is.
It was frozen for 24 hours and then slowly thawed,
with only the concentrated portion that melted first being used.
It was not a process of removing the water, but of gathering the flavor.
As someone who majored in biological sciences,
I naturally became curious about the principle behind it.
It even brought back memories of extracting caffeine
in an organic chemistry laboratory during my undergraduate years at KAIST.

On the surface, it was just a cup of latte,
but hidden inside were countless experiments and standards
that customers could not see.
At that moment, I suddenly had this thought:
What moves people is not flashy technique,
but the details that most people cannot see.
JM thinks of Thermage FLX as “design” rather than simply a “treatment.”
Clinical care is not so different.
Using the same Thermage FLX does not necessarily produce the same results.
At JM, we begin with the standards by which we view the skin.
What is the skin thickness?
What is the cause of the reduced elasticity?
Which areas of the face are beginning to show signs of aging?
In which direction is lifting needed?
And, in the balance of the entire face,
what kind of change would look the most natural?
These are the questions we examine first.

Only after that do we design
how much energy to use,
at what depth to deliver it,
and in what order to perform the treatment.
This is because we believe that the standards for using the device
come before the device itself.

Invisible details create the results of Gangnam Thermage
Patients see the results,
but most do not see the process.
Just as café customers do not see
the mineral ratio of the water
or the filter,
many details in the treatment room
are not visible.
But being invisible does not make them unimportant.
If anything,
most of what creates the result
lies in those details.
At JM,
we consider why a treatment was performed
more important than what treatment was performed.
The reason is simple.
Everyone’s skin is different,
as are the direction of aging,
the causes of reduced elasticity,
and the way the skin responds.

Where Beauty Meets Science, JM’s standards for Gangnam Thermage
At JM,
we have a philosophy called
Where Beauty Meets Science.
Beauty cannot be completed through sensation alone.
We believe that natural-looking changes
can be created only when the science of understanding the skin,
the standards used to analyze the face,
and extensive clinical experience
come together.
That is why
I do not view Thermage FLX as merely a device.
I see it as a process of understanding one person’s skin and face,
then designing the appropriate energy and direction for that individual.
I believe good results do not come from intense stimulation,
but begin with establishing appropriate standards
and maintaining them consistently to the end.

Q1. Will Gangnam Thermage produce the same results at every clinic?
Even when the same Thermage FLX device is used,
the approach may differ according to the skin analysis,
treatment design, method of energy delivery,
and interpretation of the facial structure.
Q2. Can you expect better results simply by increasing the output of Thermage FLX?
What matters is not simply using stronger energy,
but creating an appropriate plan that takes the skin condition
and facial structure into account. The approach may vary
depending on an individual’s skin characteristics
and treatment plan.
Q3. Why does JM consider “design” important?
JM seeks to understand the skin
not as an isolated area,
but within the balance of the entire face
and the progression of aging. Therefore,
rather than focusing on the treatment itself,
we first consider why it is needed,
which areas require it,
and how it should be applied.
This is the core of our clinical philosophy.

The latte I had at the café
was not simply delicious coffee.
It was a cup that reminded me once again
that professionalism ultimately means never overlooking
the details others do not see.
I hope that those who have visited JM someday
will have the same thought.
“I thought it was the same Gangnam Thermage,
so why does it feel so different?”
I believe the answer to that question is not a special secret,
but an attitude of continually considering and designing
the invisible details through to the end.
Where Beauty Meets Science.
JM’s standards for Gangnam Thermage
continue to begin with those details today.
Starting February 19, 2026,
consultations for skin conditions
are operated on a 100% appointment-only basis.
(Same-day appointments can be made by phone only.)
