Gangnam Station Haru Plant Dental Clinic Harunate Live, a Record of a Clinical Site That Drew Global Attention
Hello,
This is Gangnam Station Haru Plant Dental Clinic.
Today, we would like to share news about Harunate, one of Haru Plant Dental Clinic's main treatment services.
Harunate is a program that minimizes unnecessary tooth reduction to reduce the drawbacks of laminate veneers and combines Haru Plant Dental Clinic's advanced technology to quickly restore damaged teeth in a way that is similar to natural teeth.

Recently, a live demonstration of Harunate, the one-day veneer technique, was held at Gangnam Station Haru Plant Dental Clinic, hosted by the global dental company VITA Zahnfabrik.
VITA Zahnfabrik is a dental materials company founded in Germany with more than 100 years of history.
Starting over a century ago with the production of artificial denture teeth, the company has established itself as a pioneer in the dental industry by developing high-quality dental materials and equipment.
It is especially well known as the company that first developed the Shade Guide, which became the global standard for tooth color selection.
Today, it supplies prosthetic materials that meet the highest quality standards to more than 150 countries worldwide, and it is known for its efforts to support advanced medical technologies and overseas dental professionals through the VITA Zahnfabrik Academy.
For this VITA Zahnfabrik Academy event, a special live seminar was planned so that the entire clinical process could be viewed in real time.
This Harunate live demonstration, held at Haru Plant Dental Clinic, the only hospital in Seoul selected as a VITA-certified excellence clinic, was attended by 30 overseas dentists and experts and was held on the largest scale in Korea.
The lecture and clinical procedure were directly led by Dr. Kang Min-ji, the CEO of Haru Plant Dental Clinic, who is an official VITA speaker in Germany and the only representative speaker in Seoul, Korea, and in the Asia-Pacific region.

Registration & Orientation

At 9:00 a.m., participants completed registration at the reception desk and were then introduced to Harunate, the overall schedule, and the order of the sessions.
At this point, the live demonstration schedule, the demonstration location for each session, and the movement route were explained. Soon after, the first session was held, in which the treatment plan was finalized based on the questionnaire completed by the model before the live demonstration and Dr. Kang Min-ji's diagnosis.

Tooth Preparation and
Intraoral Digital Scan

At 10:00 a.m., tooth preparation began first to improve adhesion. Tooth preparation was carried out carefully so that the hard layer protecting the tooth, the enamel, could be preserved as much as possible.
After the tooth preparation, the photo shoot and clinical record update process needed for the design work were carried out thoroughly.
Next, instead of the traditional uncomfortable impression-taking process, a 3D intraoral scan was performed by photographing the teeth and gums with a camera. The repeatedly captured data to reduce errors is sent to the in-house digital lab (CAD/CAM Lab) and directly connected to the CAD design stage there.

Design and Production Stage

Toward the end of the morning, the Harunate design work was carried out.
Based on the scan data, the final design was determined after a comprehensive review of the line where the gums and teeth meet, the length and proportion of the teeth, and the Smile Arc, the line of the upper teeth revealed along the curve of the lower lip when smiling.

The finalized design then went through the milling stage, in which the ceramic block is processed, followed by careful surface processing of the prosthesis (initial finishing). It was completed after repeatedly going through the step of trying it on in advance on a 3D-printed model.

Preparation Stage for Bonding

At 4:00 p.m., the tooth and veneer surface conditioning process was carried out to increase bonding strength.
Because this process affects bonding strength and retention, special care is required.
Accordingly, the tooth and Harunate were treated differently so that they would bond well, and the preparation stage was completed by thoroughly blocking out saliva and moisture.
5:00 p.m.
Final Bonding

After all pre-treatment was completed, the cementation stage began.
After the final try-in to check the fit and contact points to see whether it fit the tooth well, an adhesive most suitable for the tooth and the material was selected, and the bonding work was carried out carefully.
After the light-curing process to harden it firmly, the bonded area was neatly cleaned with dental floss and the overall occlusion was finely adjusted, bringing the demonstration to a close.
6:00 p.m.
Clinical Review

After the bonding was completed, a clinical review was conducted.
Through before-and-after treatment photos, each item was presented to show how appropriately the shape and proportion of the teeth had been restored and how well they had been bonded to blend harmoniously with the surrounding teeth.

There was also a Q&A session, giving participants time to resolve the many questions from overseas medical professionals about the design standards for Harunate, material selection, and aftercare.
Participants and VITA representatives commented that "this was the first live demonstration of this scale," and showed great interest in Haru Plant Dental Clinic's systematic framework, which consists of advanced digital medical technology, an organic collaboration system connecting dentists, dental hygienists, and dental technicians, and step-by-step patient communication.

This Harunate Live was a meaningful event that allowed attendees to see in real time, without editing, the advantages of Harunate:
"Designed in one day, completed in one day."
The process, which flowed seamlessly from patient consultation to tooth preparation, scanning, design, fabrication, surface treatment, and bonding, left a strong impression on participants.
Gangnam Station Haru Plant Dental Clinic will continue to lead the latest digital dentistry and global education, and will strive to provide patients with a better treatment experience.
