8. To help prevent swelling, cold compresses for 2 to 3 days are helpful,

For cold compresses: do not place the cooling pack provided by the hospital directly on the eyes; instead, apply it evenly around the eye area.

If you press it directly onto the surgical area, the area may be compressed, which could cause a double fold or prevent the eyelid crease from forming neatly.

For 3 to 4 days after surgery, cold compresses, and for 5 to 7 days, warm compresses are effective for swelling and bruising.
