What Is Onda Lifting? Microwaves and a Special Handpiece

Many of you may know Ulthera or Thermage, but have never heard of “Onda” before. It’s a new lifting device that uses the latest technology. In fact, it does feel a bit late to have introduced it. Since it first came out in 2022... after several years of procedures, its safety has already been verified. Thermage came out in 2003, so Onda is definitely much newer.

First, what other type of energy is used in lifting lasers besides radiofrequency or ultrasound? It’s microwaves. When we put food in a microwave oven, it rotates and gets hot, right? Onda lifting uses that principle.

Nowadays, with the development of AI technology, we live in an era where energy is power. Laser lifting technology also needs energy. Most treatments use heat energy to make the skin firmer and lift it. There are various ways to generate heat. Radiofrequency and ultrasound generate heat too, and microwaves also produce heat.

It’s said to be similar to a microwave oven, but (it’s not an actual microwave oven; that’s just the principle). Water molecules inside the skin vibrate and generate heat.
