Hello, this is Bellevue Clinic. Have you ever undergone InMode lifting in hopes of achieving a sharper jawline and smoother facial contours, only to find blotchy marks remaining on the surface of your skin? Of course, this is part of the natural recovery process, but bruising can be a significant psychological burden for people living busy lives.
Smoothly and discreetly,
Shortening the Recovery Period for InMode Bruising

InMode bruising occurs due to the strong suction pressure and high-voltage current used during the MiniFX stage. It generally fades naturally and disappears within three days to one week. The InMode Mini FX device uses negative pressure (Vacuum) to pull the tissue in like a cupping treatment, while delivering radiofrequency energy and high-voltage current (HVP). During this process, tiny blood vessels may rupture, causing bruising. Unlike ordinary bruises from an impact, these bruises are relatively superficial and usually disappear naturally within 3–7 days. However, for people facing important meetings or commuting to work, bruising is certainly unwelcome. Many people ask how they can normalize the bruised area a little more quickly.
Rather than leaving marks that develop after the procedure untreated,
learning and practicing proper aftercare techniques
can meaningfully shorten the time it takes
to return to daily life.

Do not place an ice pack directly on the skin!!!
Cold compresses
during the first two days after the procedure!
Immediately after the procedure, micro-bleeding may still be occurring or the blood vessels may be dilated. Therefore, during the first 24–48 hours, cold compresses should be used to constrict the blood vessels and prevent the bruising from spreading. Cold compresses are helpful for stabilizing the dilated microvessels and preventing the bruise from spreading widely. The low temperature constricts the blood vessels, suppresses micro-bleeding, and provides immediate relief from swelling and heat in the treatment area.
※ If an ice pack comes into direct contact with the skin, it may cause excessive irritation or a cold burn to the temporarily softened skin barrier. Be sure to wrap it in a clean towel or gauze and gently place it on the area, lightly patting rather than pressing.

From around the third day after the procedure,
warm compresses and bruise cream
Now, you should switch your care routine to warm compresses. The principle is to promote blood circulation in the bruised area so that stagnant blood components can be absorbed into the body more quickly. Gentle warmth activates tissue metabolism and helps the skin clear the marks on its own more quickly. Along with this, applying a thin layer of bruise cream containing vitamin K or heparin sodium, which can be easily purchased at a pharmacy, several times a day and gently allowing it to absorb may provide an additional benefit for blood circulation.
Let me summarize once again. From the third day, when bleeding has stopped and the bruise has settled, warm compresses should be used to increase blood flow so that stagnant blood—the bruise—can be absorbed into the body more quickly. Vitamin K creams or heparin-containing products sold at pharmacies, such as Venoplus and bruise creams, also help improve circulation and break down blood clots, helping to speed up recovery.

Maintain healthy lifestyle habits
during the recovery period!
In addition, during the recovery period, it is important to maintain lifestyle habits that support a stable metabolic environment in the body. Vigorous exercise, saunas, and alcohol can rapidly raise body temperature, causing blood vessels that have just settled down to dilate again and potentially making the bruising darker, so it is safer to avoid them. Alcohol and sudden increases in body temperature, such as those caused by exercise or saunas, dilate blood vessels and sharply increase blood flow, which may trigger renewed bleeding from recovering microvessels or worsen swelling. As a general rule, avoid them for at least about one week. When you also maintain a regular schedule on your own, your contours can ultimately settle into a more attractive appearance.
Many people ask, “Does having a lot of bruising mean the treatment was more effective?” The amount of bruising may vary depending on the suction intensity and skin type, but the size of the bruise is not necessarily proportional to the effectiveness of the procedure. People with thin skin or fragile capillaries simply bruise more easily, so there is no need to question the effectiveness just because you have little bruising.
