Gangnam Station InMode Lifting: A Guide to the Differences Between FORMA and FX

When looking into InMode lifting near Gangnam Station, you will come across the names of two modes: FORMA and FX.
Although their names are similar, they can be confusing because the two treatments differ in both their principles and purposes.
MI.K CLINIC has organized the differences between the two modes.
Key Summary
✔ FORMA remodels collagen in the dermal layer, while FX selectively reduces subcutaneous fat.
✔ The treatment intervals differ: one week for FORMA and 3–4 weeks for FX.
✔ The duration of results may vary from person to person.

Q1. What exactly is InMode?

InMode is a lifting device that uses radio frequency (RF) and high-voltage electrical stimulation together.
Because it checks the temperature 1,000 times per second during treatment, it can also be applied to thin and sensitive skin.
The treatment areas include the face as well as the neck, but the forehead is excluded.
The two modes have different principles and are suitable for different areas.
At MI.K CLINIC, treatments are performed using the two modes, FORMA and FX.
You can decide which mode is right for you after consulting with the doctor based on your goals.
Q2. What is the difference between FORMA and FX?

FORMA stimulates collagen in the dermal layer to improve skin elasticity.
A gel is applied during the procedure, so it is relatively gentle.
FX selectively reduces subcutaneous fat by applying radio frequency and high-voltage stimulation while the skin is suctioned.
You may feel warmth during the treatment, and suction marks may remain for several days.
In terms of the primary goal, FORMA focuses on elasticity, while FX focuses on fat reduction.
By treatment area, FORMA is mainly used where improved elasticity is needed, such as the cheekbones, cheeks, and neck. FX is mainly used where fat is a concern, such as the double chin, jawline, and cheek fat.
Q3. What are the treatment areas and intervals?

InMode can be applied to the cheeks, lower cheeks, nasolabial fold area, double chin, jawline, cheekbones, and neck.
However, the forehead is excluded from the treatment areas.
The interval varies by mode: FORMA is performed at one-week intervals, while FX is performed at 3–4-week intervals.
Results from both modes generally last for approximately 2–3 months, but the exact duration may vary from person to person.
The treatment intensity and number of sessions are adjusted directly by the doctor during the consultation after assessing your skin condition.
Q4. How should I care for my skin after treatment?

Redness and a warm sensation may remain from the day of treatment for approximately one week.
Simple cleansing and makeup are allowed, but please avoid exfoliation.
It is best to wash your face with lukewarm water. Washing with cold water may cool the heat stimulation and reduce the lifting effect.
For the same reason, please also avoid cold compresses for approximately one week.
Please refrain from saunas, jjimjilbangs, strenuous exercise, alcohol, and smoking for one week, and be sure to moisturize and use sun protection.
The FX mode may cause suction marks, or red marks, but they generally disappear naturally within three days to one week.
Trying to remove them quickly with massage or exfoliation may instead cause irritation, so it is not recommended.
