How to Get Rid of Stretch Marks: If They Have Turned from Red to
White

Generally, when weight suddenly increases or the body grows naturally,
stretch marks are likely to appear on areas such as the thighs and hips.
These marks are called stretch marks, and they occur when the skin stretches
rapidly. Because they are not aesthetically pleasing, they can cause stress.
Today, I will share various ways to get rid of stretch marks that appear due
to sudden weight gain.

When collagen fibers inside the dermis are damaged due to weight gain and other
reasons, stretch marks appear as if the skin has cracked.
Although it is not a condition accompanied by pain, it can cause stress from
a cosmetic standpoint, and marks can appear on various areas such as the
thighs, hips, and calves.
Once they appear, they are not easily removed, so early symptoms should be
improved through appropriate methods. If too much time passes, it is hard to
expect improvement with simple cosmetics alone.

In pregnant women, stretch marks often appear on the abdomen, and as the skin
naturally stretches during pregnancy, female hormones also increase.
About 50% to 90% of pregnant women experience them, and they usually appear
around the 6th to 7th month, when the belly begins to grow more noticeably
than in the early stages. They become more severe as the due date approaches.
Because they are difficult to remove naturally, and once red stretch marks turn
white they are classified as a refractory skin condition, they should not be
left untreated.

In the early stages, you can carefully apply an ointment containing retinoid
ingredients, or consider removing the red tone with vascular laser treatment
and then allowing the skin to regenerate.
For laser treatment, it is generally enough to receive about five sessions at
3- to 4-week intervals, and white stretch marks are treated with fractional
laser and mesotherapy.
The method differs depending on the degree and extent, but in most cases,
improvement is difficult with just one session. It is best to receive five or
more sessions at 2-month intervals when it comes to getting rid of stretch
marks.

After laser treatment, it is important to avoid strenuous exercise that causes
heavy sweating and showering for 1 to 2 days.
Using oils and creams consistently on the stretched area is also one way to
get rid of stretch marks, and diet should be improved to prevent sudden weight
gain.
Maintaining a balanced diet over a long period can lower the likelihood of
stretch marks appearing, and it is also important to prevent weight gain
through regular exercise.

Even people with dry skin are relatively more likely to develop stretch marks,
so it is advisable to drink enough water in daily life.
It is good to build a habit of drinking water often to keep the body well
hydrated, and rather than wearing tight clothing, it is better to wear clothing
that allows good ventilation.
Once red stretch marks turn white, treatment can become even more difficult, so
please remove them quickly through the proper methods for getting rid of
stretch marks.
