Red Mites Takaradani
Causes, symptoms, and prevention

Recently, there have been cases of red mites, an insect introduced from Japan, being discovered in various places in one area.
People may worry about whether this insect is harmful, but fortunately, in most cases, it is a pest that does not harm people or animals.
Today, we will take a look at the basic information about Takaradani red mites, their causes, related symptoms, diagnostic methods, treatment methods, and prevention methods.

Red mites are about 0.55 mm in size, so they are very small and reddish in color, making them look like dust to the naked eye, but they are mainly active in spring and early summer.
Even though these mites do not attach to human skin or bite, when they appear in large numbers, they gather on building exteriors, balconies, and window frames, causing discomfort.
In particular, they can appear even on the exterior walls of homes or on high-rise apartment windows, so they can create not only visual discomfort but also sanitation concerns.

Red mites are a different type from hard ticks, or from mites such as bird mites, which are sometimes called “killer ticks,” and they are not a species that causes major harm.
They mainly live in lawns, flower beds, and tree bark, and are highly prolific. If they invade indoors, you may see them crawling on walls, curtains, and desks.
If you rub them or crush them to death, red stains may remain, which can damage indoor interiors and require thorough cleanliness management.

Although they do not actually bite people directly, children or people with weakened immune systems may experience itchy skin or rashes.
Also, the fluids left at the site after they are killed can cause irritation, so rather than crushing them with bare hands, it is safer to use a vacuum cleaner or tape.
It is also a good idea to remove mites gathered on balconies and window frames with a strong stream of water or cleaning products, and to block gaps with silicone and similar materials to reduce spaces where they can live.

To prevent them from entering indoors, it is essential to maintain window screens and carefully seal gaps around doors and windows, and potted plants or soil outdoors can also become entry routes, so inspection is necessary.
To prevent infestation, it helps to regularly clean areas where mites may gather and always keep them dry.
If there are plants or grass nearby, spraying insecticide or using natural repellents such as eucalyptus or tea tree oil is also a good idea.

In particular, they tend to attach well to sunlit walls and white exterior surfaces, so buildings with light-colored exterior materials need extra attention.
Since mites can come onto clothing or shoes when going বাইরে in summer, it is important to make it a habit to wash clothes and thoroughly wash your hands and feet after going out.
Having one or two is not a major problem, but because they are a pest with rapid reproductive ability, they can quickly increase to hundreds, so it is best to respond early.
