Hello, I’m here again today to bring you helpful news! :)
Recently, COVID-19 and influenza have started spreading again, so everyone seems to need to be especially careful.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency announced that, in hopes of preventing the influx of overseas infectious diseases,
it will carry out a pilot project for an airport-based travel respiratory infectious disease testing service at Gimpo and Jeju airports starting on February 17, 2025.
The purpose of this project is to detect the domestic introduction of overseas infectious diseases and new or variant pathogens at an early stage,
and it seems it will be very helpful for incoming travelers from abroad, as they can receive rapid testing at the quarantine stage and then use medical institutions if respiratory symptoms are suspected.
Eligible users
Voluntary applicants among overseas arrivals at airports and ports who have respiratory symptoms
Testing location
Gimpo Airport: 2nd floor of the Gimpo International Airport arrival hall, Gimpo Airport Branch of the National Incheon Airport Quarantine Station
Jeju Airport: 2nd floor of the Jeju International Airport arrival hall, Jeju Airport Branch of the National Jeju Quarantine Station
Test items
Avian influenza human infection (AI), COVID-19, influenza viruses A/B

Please note that the results of the tests conducted afterward will be notified to the individual by text message or email for both negative and positive results.
