In My 8th Year at Oganacell Dermatology: Why Did I Become a Dermatologist?

Hello.

I’m O Gana, a dermatologist with 16 years of experience.

Many patients ask me,

“Why did you become a dermatologist?”

Today, I’d like to share, in a light and friendly way, the journey that began with opening Oganacell Dermatology in Cheongdam-dong and eventually led to the expansion of our second and third locations.

I’d like to talk about why I chose dermatology, what I experienced while expanding the clinics, and what happened along the way to opening Oganacell’s third location!

Why Did I Want to Become a Dermatologist?

Since I was young,

although it may sound a little embarrassing^^;

I had a dream of “doing work that could give people confidence through my own hands.”

Dermatology was the perfect field for making that dream come true.

Many people lose confidence because of skin concerns, but I have seen many cases where their lives changed through appropriate treatment.

That experience is what led me to choose dermatology.

With my affection and passion for skin health as a foundation, I have continued treating patients for more than 10 years and built trusting relationships with them.

As an aside, what about Director Park Jae-beom of Oganacell Dongdaemun?^^

He says that he experienced many kinds of skin problems, including hives and atopic dermatitis, since his school days.

That is why he has conducted specialized research into acne and scar treatment.

Director Kwon In-hyeok did not have one specific reason for choosing dermatology; he says that his path naturally led him to the field.

To this day, he continues to provide effective treatment to patients based on his deep interest in pigmentation disorders and improving skin elasticity.

We each chose this path for different reasons, but we share one common goal: wanting to help our patients regain their skin health and confidence.

Story of Our Expansion to Oganacell’s Third Location

Oganacell Dermatology began in Cheongdam-dong.

At first, we began treating patients with the simple goal of “providing good treatment,” but over time, we came to realize just how important trust between patients and the clinic is—beyond treatment itself.

That trust led to positive feedback and continued interest from our patients. As a result, it gave us the opportunity to expand from Cheongdam to Dongdaemun and then to Jamsil.

Oganacell Dongdaemun

Our second location in Dongdaemun specializes in acne treatment and scar care, and patients of various ages—from teenagers to adults—continue to visit us regularly.

Oganacell Jamsil

Our third location in Jamsil focuses on pigmentation disorders and the treatment of fine scars. We carefully analyze each patient’s skin condition to provide customized treatment.

Oganacell’s long journey, which began in Cheongdam, has been able to continue thanks to the trust and support of our patients.

Building on that foundation, we hope to reach even more people and continue providing sincere, personalized care for every patient.

Moving Forward Together with the Directors of Oganacell

Oganacell Dermatology’s greatest strength is that skilled directors work together as a team.

Based on their respective areas of expertise, our directors provide care that meets each patient’s needs.

At the Cheongdam location, the dermatology specialists, including me, focus on skin lifting and improving elasticity. At the Dongdaemun location, Directors Kwon In-hyeok and Park Jae-beom specialize in acne and restoring the skin barrier. At the Jamsil location, Director Kim Sang-jin specializes in pigmentation disorders and scar treatment.

The effort these directors make to communicate with patients and provide sincere consultations and customized treatment is the greatest reason Oganacell has become a trusted dermatology clinic.

Our goal is to share your skin concerns with you and help you achieve healthy, confident skin.

To pursue this goal more broadly, our fourth location, Oganacell Magok, is also scheduled to open soon.
