Hello.
I’m Ogana, a board-certified dermatologist with 16 years of experience.

On a late winter night in 2023,
after the day’s appointments were over,
I had dinner with Director Kwon for the first time in a while.
It started like a light conversation,
but topics that were anything but light came up.

Thoughts about work, the time that had passed,
and the direction ahead.
Today, I’d like to share the conversation I had with Director Kwon
with you as well.
What We’ve Been Enjoying These Days
When you get caught up in appointments and daily life,
each day can pass by very quickly.
Still, you need moments of enjoyment while working
if you’re going to keep going, right?
My biggest joy these days
is seeing patients.

I tell patients this very plainly.
I’ll take responsibility, make their skin better,
and if it really doesn’t improve, I’ll give them a refund.
The more severe the patient’s skin condition is,
the more I think, “I’m so glad you came,”
and the better I feel, haha.

Director Kwon is completely into golf,
or so he says.
He recently made a hole-in-one,
so his joy is even greater.
When he talked about that thrilling moment,
a smile never left his face.

And there was another piece of good news.
The second floor expansion at the Dongdaemun branch!
Since opening in 2022,
many people have visited us,
so we expanded the space
to provide a more comfortable environment.
Seeing these changes stack up one by one
and watching things grow step by step
is really satisfying.

The Precious People Who Remained Through Work
When you work, you meet many people,
and you also part ways with many.
2020 was especially difficult.
Around the time I was launching the YouTube channel “Offride,”
I was targeted by a journalist.
At that time, many people around me also left.
Even so, there were people who stayed until the end.
The managers I had worked with,
Director Hyojin, who runs a cosmetics company,
and from Director Kwon, who is still with me now,
to many colleagues.
Back then, I felt anxious every day,
but when I look back now,
it seems to have been an opportunity to learn
who the truly precious people were.
Because there were people who stayed in that situation,
we’ve been able to maintain good relationships
even until now.

Looking back, there were definitely things I realized.
When you go through difficult moments,
you naturally learn a lot.
There were unfair aspects at the time,
but rather than 계속 worrying about them,
I pulled myself together with the thought that
“Feeling wronged itself is my loss.”
Once I changed my mindset like that,
I was able to return to everyday life more quickly.
What’s interesting, though,
is that after going through a hard time,
I actually became stronger.
There were many people who worried about me,
and there were also people who cheered me on,
telling me to keep my spirits up.

The patient I remember most vividly
said,
“I’ve been following Offride from the beginning,
and I couldn’t believe what that journalist wrote,
so I came to support you.”
Thanks to encouragement from people like that,
I think I was able to endure and keep going with more strength.
And looking back now,
I realized that it’s also important
to look around, rather than only running forward.
I also felt that instead of overly刺激적인 content,
I wanted to share stories that are a little more comfortable and natural.
A Time for New Challenges and Strengthening the Foundation
Now, new challenges are beginning not only in Korea
but also overseas.
Recently, we’ve been preparing to open a clinic in China.
We’re currently exchanging floor plans
and working on the interior design.
Soon, I’ll visit the site as well
and personally oversee the opening process.
In addition, we’re aiming to expand to one or two more locations in 2024.

At the same time,
I’m thinking a lot about how to motivate the staff as well.
I believe it’s most important to create an environment
where everyone we work with has goals
and can grow together.
That wraps up the conversation we had over dinner with Director Kwon.
It’s already been well over a year,
and the memories are coming back vividly^^
Even in our busy daily lives,
the process of growing and thinking things through together
felt like a very precious moment.
As we continue moving toward new goals,
I hope we can keep being with good people like we are now,
and with that, I’ll end this conversation here. 😊
