Hello.
I’m Ogana, a dermatologist with 16 years of experience.

Recently, on my Threads,
I posted before-and-after photos of actress Lee Ji-hye’s thread lift,
and the comments exploded. lol

I was reminded once again
that many people are very interested in lifting.
So today, together with a real case,
I’d like to talk about what a thread lift is
and why the practitioner’s skill matters.
Thread lift procedures are not as scary as they seem
When people hear “thread lift,”
they often say things like:
“I’m worried it will hurt.”
“Won’t it swell?”
“I’m concerned it might be obvious.”
But people who actually go through it often say:
“It’s simpler than I expected.”
“I can feel the change right away.”
A thread lift is a procedure with little burden
and one where you can quickly see changes.
Even without general anesthesia,
it can be performed comfortably with only local injection anesthesia.

Of course, pain varies from person to person,
but nine out of ten of my patients
finish the procedure comfortably and leave.
It’s a procedure with high satisfaction compared to the time it takes.
Especially after your 40s, many people
clearly feel the lifting effect.
A thread lift case for a mother in her 60s
This photo was taken at the first visit on October 20, 2025.
(This photo was taken and posted with the patient’s consent.

Recently, I personally performed
a thread lift for my mother in her 60s.
The goal was to improve nasolabial folds and facial sagging,
and as the asymmetrical lines were corrected,
the overall impression became much clearer.
That is how natural and immediate the change can feel.
The key to thread lifting is 'design'.
Before the procedure,
I always analyze the facial structure in detail.
- How much the area around the nasolabial folds has descended
- Where the marionette lines have collapsed
- How much the central axis of the face is distorted
The process of reading these sagging vectors is the most important part.
Only when it is identified accurately can a long-lasting lift be achieved
without bruising or bleeding.

That is why I believe thread lifting is not simply
a procedure that inserts threads,
but a delicate process that combines design and sense.
Experience built through more than 3,000 procedures
Thread lifting is one of the procedures I perform most often
and am most confident in.

I haven’t counted exactly,
but I have performed it more than 3,000 times so far.
What I have learned from seeing so many different cases is that
a thread that settles naturally and induces collagen,
rather than one that simply lasts too long,
eventually gives better results.
The type of thread used this time was Vivlaak.
A 100% dissolvable thread that lasts well without being excessive.
When a procedure is done with this kind of thread, patient satisfaction
and duration of results are clearly higher.
Of course, side effects such as bruising, swelling, or thread extrusion
can occur.
But with experienced technique and an accurate approach,
the actual occurrence of side effects is very rare.
Wrapping up about thread lifting..

A thread lift is not something to be afraid of.
Like nail care, you can start anti-aging treatment lightly,
but with clear changes.
In the end, results depend on who performs it.
Even with the same thread, the results differ depending on the doctor’s sense and experience.

Currently, Ogana Cell Cheongdam is running a thread lift event
through the end of December.
If you’ve only been thinking about it until now,
this might be a good chance to try it. ^^
Thank you for reading such a long post today.
