Male Hump Nose_Correction at the Same Time as Rhinitis Surgery

Today, I would like to introduce a case in which male hump nose surgery and rhinitis surgery were performed at the same time.

In this patient’s case, the nose was visibly crooked, and while there was a slight hump on the bridge,

the tip of the nose was significantly drooped, which made the nose look even more crooked from the front.

The reason this patient decided to undergo nose surgery was to correct the crooked nose and improve the hump nose, which looked unappealing aesthetically.

He visited us for that reason, and this was a case with a high level of satisfaction because the rhinitis surgery, which had also caused discomfort in daily life, was performed at the same time.

For this male patient’s hump nose + rhinitis surgery, the procedure included

hump nose osteotomy + silicone bridge implant + ear cartilage for the nasal tip + nasal valve surgery for rhinitis

It was performed, and by lifting the drooped nasal tip, the nostrils were also naturally reduced.

In cases like the patient above, where the bridge of the nose is crooked while the glabella and philtrum line up, the crooked nasal bone can be corrected through osteotomy, and the lower crooked cartilage can be corrected through septoplasty and nasal valve correction surgery to straighten the crooked nose. Because the degree of septal deviation was severe, septal cartilage could not be used for the nasal tip, so ear cartilage from both sides was used to build support at the tip, and a slightly low bridge was raised using an implant. When ear cartilage is used to build support at the nasal tip, the disadvantages of soft ear cartilage are addressed, and appropriate amounts and shapes of cartilage are harvested from both sides so that the ear does not become deformed from excessive cartilage removal. Since these kinds of hump and crooked noses mostly originate from trauma, septal deviation and nasal valve narrowing are often present inside the nose, which makes nasal breathing difficult, so functional nasal surgery was performed together to address these issues.
