Hello, this is Oji Plastic Surgery and N+ Clinic.
The topic introduced this time is rhinoplasty without implants.

Many people are experiencing lowered self-esteem, psychological discouragement, and stress in daily life due to complexes about their appearance.
Since the trend is moving toward appearance-focused standards, if you are in this situation, you may consider addressing the issue through plastic surgery.
Among these, interest in the nose is especially high. The nose plays a major role in determining our overall image, and even a slight change can improve it into a softer look. However, if you have been putting off rhinoplasty because of concerns about artificial implants, you may want to look into rhinoplasty without implants.

What is rhinoplasty without implants?
Rhinoplasty without implants is a procedure performed without using artificial implants such as silicone or Gore-Tex on the bridge of the nose.
When considering rhinoplasty, the biggest concern is inflammation/contracture symptoms that may occur after surgery. In general, inflammatory reactions after nose surgery are often caused by the inserted artificial implant, and the chance of inflammation is quite low. Therefore, if you are worried about possible inflammation after nose surgery and want a naturally looking result that is close to your original nose, rhinoplasty without implants is recommended.

(The image above shows before-and-after photos of actual rhinoplasty without implants at N+ Clinic.)
When performing rhinoplasty without implants, the surgery is carried out using your own cartilage.
Autologous cartilage includes septal cartilage, ear cartilage, and rib cartilage.

Septal cartilage is the cartilage inside the nose, and it helps create a natural nose shape.
It is firmer than ear cartilage, so it provides solid support to prevent the tip of the nose from drooping.
Ear cartilage is easy to harvest and helps make the nose tip look natural and refined.
Autologous rib cartilage is cartilage located in the ribs. It is used when septal cartilage and ear cartilage are insufficient,
and it is often used in revision surgery, though it may also be used in the first surgery for a short nose.
However, there are cases in which harvesting autologous cartilage is difficult. In such cases, safe donor rib cartilage approved by the U.S. FDA is used, and because it is a specially processed product, the likelihood of rejection during implantation is low.

As such, rhinoplasty without implants focuses only on tip surgery, so the entire nose does not have to be operated on, which reduces the burden.
Because it is performed using your own autologous cartilage, you can expect less foreign-body sensation after surgery and a natural result, along with a faster recovery.

However, although the overall burden may be reduced, nose surgery still needs to be approached carefully. The nose may look simple from the outside, but its internal structure is complex, so it requires medical expertise in the nose, confirmation from experienced medical staff, and a systematic examination system. Because internal problems in the nose are difficult to identify from the outside, we recommend checking whether the clinic accurately identifies the issue through 3D-CT imaging and internal endoscopy, and whether it performs nose surgery tailored to each individual based on the examination results.

Also, when undergoing rhinoplasty without implants, if you focus only on low cost or cosmetic aspects, it should be done at a place that can also evaluate functional aspects. Therefore, rather than proceeding carelessly, be sure to check whether the clinic has a systematic process in place, from preoperative examination and consultation to surgical planning and postoperative care. Doing so can increase satisfaction after surgery.

That concludes my explanation of rhinoplasty without implants at N+ Clinic. I hope this post is helpful for those who find full rhinoplasty burdensome or who want only a slight change to the nose tip. Thank you^^
