More and more people have been asking about Re2O in the clinic.

Today, I’ll answer the questions above and explain two conditions that improve the effect of Re2O in Hongdae.

Recently, Hollywood stars such as Lindsay Lohan and Anne Hathaway have been making headlines for their noticeably improved faces.

The procedure they received and the principle are similar, but Hongdae Re2O (Re2O) is specialized in improving skin texture by using the skin tissue itself.

It removes the components in human skin tissue that trigger immune reactions,

and turns beneficial components such as collagen and elastin (ECM) into fine particles.

If this is injected into the dermis, it immediately improves the skin structure

and helps the skin produce new collagen and elastin more effectively.

Q. Can Re2O be used instead of filler for nasolabial folds? A. No, they serve different purposes.

If you think of it like a volume filler, your satisfaction may drop after the procedure because you may think, “Oh, this is different from what I expected.”

Re2O is a skin booster that implants components of human dermal tissue into the dermis.

Its concept is a little different from injections like Juvelook, which induce collagen production.

To put it more simply, you could think of it as directly putting collagen into the skin.

That’s because most of the dermal tissue is collagen.

So compared with Juvelook, there is relatively much less concern about nodules caused by excessive collagen production and clumping.

You can see a nodule under the right eye in the photo.

That’s why I prefer to take advantage of this benefit and safely apply Re2O to areas where existing procedures were difficult,

after all,

the under-eye area with thin skin or fine wrinkles around the mouth.

It offers a good solution for concerns in thin skin that used to be quite tricky.

But Re2O is not a filler.

It cannot immediately plump up deeply etched nasolabial folds the way a filler can.

This is not a limitation of Re2O so much as a procedure with a different purpose.

The purpose of Hongdae Re2O is to rebuild the skin foundation so as to improve skin texture, fine lines, and elasticity.

Therefore, before the procedure, it is very important to clearly know whether your concern is filling volume or ‘rebuilding the skin itself.’

Condition 2: Checking the correct injection depth for effectiveness

Q. If it hurts less than Rejuran, does that mean it is also less effective? A. No, pain and effectiveness do not necessarily go hand in hand.

This is connected to the question of how deep it is injected.

Fortunately, Re2O tends to hurt less than Rejuran.

(I tried it myself too, and it was much more tolerable.)

Usually, as the injection needle goes deeper into the skin (toward the subcutaneous fat layer), there are fewer nerves, so the pain decreases.

Now, here comes the important point.

If the purpose of the procedure is to improve skin texture and elasticity, the product must be injected precisely into the middle/lower dermis.

The dermis is a very dense, tough layer that holds up elasticity like the pillars of our skin.

When this part breaks down with age, fine wrinkles appear.

But what happens if, just to make it less painful, you use a cannula (a blunt-tipped tube) and inject too deeply?

Because the cannula has a blunt tip, instead of piercing through the firm, tough dermis,

it is more likely to slide into the softer, more flexible subcutaneous fat layer beneath it.

Of course, injecting into the subcutaneous fat layer is still meaningful for overall elasticity support,

but the texture-improving effect we wanted can be reduced.

That’s why, for those who want better skin texture and elasticity,

I recommend receiving the procedure with two different tools used differently.

First, use a needle to carefully inject most of the product into the most effective dermal layer.

Then, switch to a cannula and reinforce the remaining amount a little deeper.

This way, you can address both the surface and the deeper layers of the skin, which can greatly improve the procedure’s effect.

Satisfaction with Hongdae Re2O is also much higher.

Summary of conditions

Before deciding on the procedure, make sure you check these two things.

1. Clearly know whether your concern is ‘volume’ or ‘skin texture’ You must accurately understand that Re2O is not a filler.

2. Make sure the injection targets the depth that matches your purpose It is better to combine needles and cannulas appropriately according to the purpose.
